I've been with this game through thick and thin and don't plan to leave completely but I have to break. I've waited quiet awhile to post a review to see how things progress and I gotta say with update 1.3 I can safely say the devs have no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ idea what to do with the game.

Last patch was decent as far as melee vs range balance it was a little steep to learn to properly counter melee vs a tactical or equivalent but it was 100% possible. The melee and range both had decent TTK and in general there were only a few problematic weapons *auto cannon, power fist and most anything that 1 shots*.

With the 1.3 patch they have all but phased out the supports by reducing their survivability. Even if you're a decent player you're going to get killed a LOT just because you chose to play a supportive role. The apothicary is okay still as they get access to a decent ranged weapon *except wolf priest who are melee only... you have my condolences*.

As far as melee it as a whole has been nerffed... You can still be semi effective with it but you'll lose 99% of trades if you lose a dbash due to the ranged ttk being insane and there being no delay on firing your bolter on them while they are stunned. Jump assaults can manage to survive this due to being able to jump out of the stun but due to the EHP being lowered they still take a fair bit of damage.

The main issue that I have now is the ranged TTK is insane you can usually gun someone down before they get a chance to react and it's honestly just not very fun... There's also quiet a bit of lag which exacerbates the issue further. There's also a ton of race imbalance that they flippantly respond to as *it's asymmetrical balance of course they play different* but anyone who plays can tell you this is complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Orks should be good in melee range yet they have the same swing speed, damage, and less penetration in general than the other factions. Their ranged weapons do more dps on paper yet have much much shorter falloff on damage and they also get access to the worst support in game! But they are green so they are best.

Chaos and LSM for the most part are mirrors the only major differences being the lsm get a aoe damage debuff to everyone in the area for tacticals, stalker bolter which does better than the auto cannon right now, and a usable support while the chaos just have nurgle grenades which are kinda meh, auto cannon which is fair and a support class that is unable to fight a fly to the death *they lose vs the fly btw*

Eldar are a mix bag with the best melee due to having pre patch damage... The EHP is low though so without a good bit of buffs from their support class they drop much to quickly to enjoy.... I'm sure you're noticing a theme with my post.. Yes the TTK is much to low right now.... Anyway back to Eldar I honestly think they are okay they just need to tweak numbers on them and make it so it doesn't require 3 warlocks to keep up a single guy.


Anyway I'm giving this a NO because it's just not worth getting right now... The game is okay if you want a generic 3rd person shooter that favors LSM or play the CSM and do okay... This is the game for you... If you wanna play a xenos and enjoy it I would honestly say wait a few patches and see if they actually fix anything. As it stands I'm salty as ♥♥♥♥ at this most recent patch and it feels like they took 2 steps forward and then a full 180 and sprinted a mile or 2 back.... The game just honestly feels very bad right now.

Due to the login issues and the really cumbersom UI and the fact this game will no longer be supported at all I can't recommend it... The people who bought it were "reimbursed" by given a copy of DD1 complete which 99% of the people who bought this already own..

Anyway to those who take the time to read this skip out on it and get DD1 complete or if you already own DD1 complete skip this and get dd2 or something else because this will not be support anymore.
