Battlefield minus graphics plus fun equals battlebit

A lot of my friends stopped playing the game because it's "boring," but I just call it chill. A decent amount of low-action time where you're just sailing from one location to another, periodically interrupted by AI ships which aren't too difficult to take down (even solo), and once in a blue moon by another player. The different world events can be challenging solo but you can have a few teammates

Chill game. Play with up to 3 friends, but best as a crew of 2 or 3 in my opinion

Buy a game and stick with it for 5 years, unless you're into myteam? Then buy it every other year but only when its on sale. If you're REALLY into myteam, why are you even reading reviews on the game that came out 6 months ago?

This game is going down the same path as PUBG. That doesn't make it a bad game, but it's not the game I paid $50 for. I paid $50 for one of the top 3 mil-sims on the market. If they continue to add micro-transactions, they'll eventually make the game free to play and make it more and more accessible until its Codclone2042v3.8

Very realistic. Very in depth. Showed me just how many parts go into a gun, and had me looking for 5 minutes for a single part because it really is that detailed.

Arma 3 is insane. Let's just get a short pro con list. I'll save the good parts for last so cons first.

CONS:
- Performance (My PC is a 1060 3gb with an i5 7400 can run as low as 20-30 fps in some cases where there's a lot of vehicles and NPCs loaded)

(I have a 3070ti and Ryzen 7 5800x now. Performance is okay now. Still drops to 30-40 in very busy scenarios)

- DLC price (The DLC for this game is amazing, although a lot of it should be available from the start, and it is overpriced normally. wait for a sale, or look into mods)

PROS:
+ Huge maps (the first map, Altis, is 270sqkm/170sqmi, about 4x the size of PUBG's maps, 7x the size of Skyrim's map, and about 10x the size of Fortnite's map, making it amazing for piloting aircraft in large scale missions, as well as selecting one of the many villages for diverse small scale missions, and of course there are 4 or 5 other official maps, and countless community made maps)

+ MODDING (OMG this game's modding community is awesome. Check the workshop for anything you can think of, or search Youtube for a list of some of the most awesome mods.)

+ Diversity of gameplay (Kind of mentioned in the map section, but you can either play a huge scale mission with several objectives over the map, or a small mission set within a single village. You can change the weather, put on night vision goggles and go dark, and put on suppressors to keep your position concealed for as long as possible. Or you can skip straight to my favorite part, flying a helicopter or jet and wreaking havok on the enemy)

+ Much much more. This review is already fairly long, so I'll just leave it at this: With the pros and cons I've already mentioned, this game get's a recommendation from me. There is no more downsides, however there is plenty more upsides, so if you're not convinced by my review, lemme tell ya, there's a lot more that this game's got going for it. Thanks for reading.

Lemme edit this review, in light of some recent events. Squad has a great foundation and a ton of potential to be the best mil-sim experience out there. Perhaps it's lacking in some ways compared to arma, but they're really the only two at this level in the genre.

HOWEVER: Last year, OWI, the developers, replaced their CEO with Vlad Ceraldi who is quite the businessman, very successful in creating mobile games as well as taking investments from TENCENT, a Chinese-based publisher who also focuses on mobile games.

Squad, as I said, has great potential, and has already hosted some of my fondest gaming memories, but adding emotes will be the first step in a long downward spiral. The end of which, will be a game that is not worth my time or yours, let alone our money. Let's hope the devs backstep and focus on improving the game and adding relevant content.

Right now? The game is in a good place, but I will not recommend because I don't like the direction it's going.

I killed a zombie. The zombie had human flesh in their inventory. This was awfully convenient because I was very hungry, about to die actually. My friend and I ate the meat, and thought nothing of it. About 2 hours later, as we were investigating a terrifying school at night, we hear laughing. We both about messed our pants. Some investigation found out that we had contracted a disease called Kuru, in the game simply known as Brain Prion Disease. It consists of involuntary laughter and tremors. We decided it would be best to reset ourselves. I killed him on the spot. Then shot myself. Very good game.

Pros:
- Story
- Visuals

Cons:
- Very short (10-20 hours depending on how you play, 17 for me.)
- Serious lack of choice (where it feels like you should be able to make a choice, even if it isn't canon)
- Stutters. (When changing areas or starting a cutscene, it stutters horrifically instead of showing a short loading screen. Very frustrating because you can miss out entirely on half of a cutscene, and the story is probably the best part about this game).

Eh:
Combat - The combat could be better I think, but maybe it's just me. I played on the second easiest difficulty (out of four) and some of the fights toward the end of the game had me retrying for a WHILE. The combat seems like it's supposed to be somewhat predictable, like you could get into some sort of flow, but I never felt that.
Level Design - Some of the missions have you repeat almost an entire level, and I found that incredibly

TLDR: Not worth $60. Maybe worth the $25 I paid on sale depending on how much you like Star Wars.
