This game is exactly the kind of relaxing sim I've been looking for. For years I've played Elite Dangerous and Euro Truck Simulator trying to fulfill the trucker fantasy but the former had way too much sitting around with jobs being very samey, while the former was too realistic for my liking with jobs taking very long and the driving not being very fun in my opinion. Star Trucker does its own thing and does it well. Aside from actually star trucking there are scripted missions that let you interact with a cast of truckers you become friends with along the way as well as the option to engage in trade on the side, allowing for more ways to play. Long hauls don't feel like boring highway drives or automated hyper jumps and take a reasonable amount of real world time. The way each star system is designed, and that fact you're in space, gives the player a choice to stay on the marked path or trying to take shortcuts between star gates, which trades the risk of running into debris and damaging your rig. Taking care of your rig breaks up the game play by adding a tactile cargo management system with consequences for not keeping up with part replacement. (This system was controversial at launch but has since been balanced nicely and game mode options let you tune your experience.) Finally I'd like to praise the art style and unique design of the game. Making your spaceship in the shape of a modern American tractor trailer is so fun and lets the game lean in to this not-too-serious tone.

TLDR: 10/10 not-too-serious space trucking sim that lets you have fun.

Even for someone who doesn't like simulation or resource management type games like Cities, this game is fun and engaging and in my opinion worth it even if you just like dinosaurs or the Jurassic Park franchise.

First and foremost: I think this is the best Battle Royale game out there right now.

Now for why I'm writing a poor review: today I jumped into the game, baught a crate with BP, AND WAS PROMPTED TO BUY A KEY TO GET MY HARD EARNED PIECE OF JUNK COSMETIC ITEM! WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE BLUEHOLE?! This isn't CSGO where your players expect to be ripped off. Furthermore, the fact that you have to earn the crate in the first place to then pay and open it is a slap in the face! Some people I know would take some 10 matches to earn enough for 1 crate, so the play time to loot ratio is unfair for most who want to have a good time and end up with something to show for the support they have given your game.
Sure the money is important, but millions of copies sold isn't enough to give back a bit?

The gameplay is good and getting better with each update, but I want to see a change in how developers handle microtransactions because when it locks off the sense of achievement then why should anyone play your game?

Bought the multiplayer only version to give it a go, actually had fun in a COD game.
First time in years.
Much wow.
7.5/10 buy if bored
