I very much enjoyed this game. The gameplay during the side scrolling was pretty simple, at times it was literally just hold right and listen to dialogue. However, I could not stop taking screenshots during those sequences! There was a sense of scale and depth displayed during the platforming portion of the game that I rarely get in these "2.5D" games. The FPS side of the game was more escape-the-roomesque. You have a puzzle/obstacle in front of you, now explore your environment to get clues to solve that puzzle. One moment stood out to me that I hoped the game did more was at the end of chapter 2 where you play as both characters.

A movie length game for a chill weekend morning. The voice acting is very well done and the character art is so charming. Each character sounds exactly like how I would imagine they sound like if they spoke English. The investigation is pretty straightforward and if you do get lost there is a very helpful hint system to guide you to the solution. Looking forward to more Duck Detective games (hopefully with more puns!)

Satisfying jigsaw puzzle. I really enjoyed the base game, but that new game+ mode is brutal! I commend those that has the patience to complete that mode.

After a Divinity 2 playthrough, I fired this up as a palate cleanser game. It is actually pretty decent! I played through it on hard and found the difficulty to be fairly balanced. You do become really powerful around mid-game with ways to refresh your APs, but I like bordering on being OP. While there are dialogue options in the game, don't expect too much from it, this is all about the combat. It is a fairly straightforward "shot %" type of game with half/full cover like X-COM. When you are not in combat you are traversing through the arena in real-time solving lite-puzzles, navigating traps, and occasionally being ambushed. If there is a second game, I would like to see destructible environments and some more verticality in future maps.

I was expecting a straightforward Cooking Mama type of game, but there is some puzzle element too. The best part about the game is the sound design. I swear I could feel the steam hit my face and smell the frying foods! I only wish the dialogue were voiced and spoken in Tamil.

Will live on my Steam Deck forever along with Slay the Spire and Balatro. Such a good one-run-before-bed type of game.

I am hesitant to fully give this a thumbs up, but it is a really unique game that I think more people should experience. The manual is fun to read through and fixing each modules has a really satisfying and tactile feeling to them (even though I played it on a mouse and keyboard). My concern with the game is the run base nature of it. I like roguelite games, however I think it is detrimental with this type of game. The first couple run feels fresh and engaging because you are constantly learning how to interact and fix each modules. Like most roguelites, failure is part of that learning process. You will probably annoy the customer, not make rent, or die the first couple of runs. However, unlike most roguelites I did not feel like I wanted to go through the same day over and over again. Though I must admit I only made it to day 2 after 10 hours (16 total run attempts). The first several were done in the time base difficulty and after much frustration I switched over to the other difficulty, but still did not have the patience to go through the same day again to only fail at a module I am not familiar with.

I would like to return to this game someday, as it is actually a well made game (not to mention funny!). I am just not melding with it at the moment. Maybe a new lower difficulty that saves each day?

If you enjoy games like Flower or Abzu, you should add this to your list. Like those games it does one thing and does it really well. It introduces some variety later on, but at it's core it is a climbing game with a cute little buddy (that you can hug for an achievement!).

Steam Deck performance was satisfactory. I set it to Medium quality with the ingame FSR set to balance and got around 30-45 FPS (sometimes 60 depending on area)

A nice quick game for the weekend. $24 is a bit steep, I would wait around the $12 mark.

An adorable, "frustrating", adventure platformer. I say "frustrating" in quotes, because even though the controls can get in the way and it can be a bit tedious trying over and over the game offers two big ways to smooth that out. One is the instant respawn, and I do mean INSTANT. As soon as you press the respawn button, it immediately puts you back to the last checkpoint (no loading, no fade to black, just *POP* respawn), which is usually just a couple of seconds away but it avoids you wasting time to reposition yourself to give the obstacle another attempt. The other method is a straight up skip to the next checkpoint. Totally defeats the purpose of the game if you just skip throughout the game, but at least it offers the player a way to continue playing the game. I've had to do this a two times throughout my gameplay, simply because I could not manage to do what it was asking me to do (i admit it was straight up a skill issue).

$9 is a decent price for the game, anything higher is a bit too much.
