This is absolutely some of the best money-for-game value on steam. If you don't know why this is one of the best indie metroidvanias on Steam already, give it a shot and find out!

Lives up to all the hype. A co-operative shooter that is immaculately designed, with an excellent community and viscerally pleasant gameplay. DANGER. DARKNESS. DWARVES.

What can I say other than 'Game of the Year 2020'? This game about fighting your way out of an underworld that ripped and clawed at you to keep you in resonated with me this year, as I'm sure it did many others. Supergiant games has outdone themselves when it comes to this one.

If ya try to play it like ya play a traditional rpg, well...
YOU'RE GONNA HAVE A BAD TIME.
if you figure out how to play it, you're gonna have a sad time.
if you do neither, you're gonna have a mad time.
other than that, 10/10 would cry again.

Pros:
-Expansive, randomly generated worlds.
-Sandboxy, build whatever you want within your world
-Oodles of enemies and bosses, therefore oodles of loot.
-Wonderful-looking pixel graphics, with deliciously detailed backgrounds
-Like guns? Use guns. Like swords? Use swords. Like magic? Put on your robe and wizard hat.
-Lots of references and in-jokes. It's refreshing for something not serious to- in a shocking turn of events- not take itself seriously.
-Varying difficulty levels, varying experiences.
-Chainsaws, rocket launchers, and teleporting (later in the game)
-Things you can fight: Pirates, zombies, mummies, ninjas, robots, sharks, several goblins, aliens, dragons, unicorns, demons, posessed axes, giant evil worms, a giant brain, Bees, a wall made of flesh, several clockwork eldrich horrors, a mayan (?) robot god, a shark-pig-dragon, A demonic santa claus tank, and the entire moon. Which is also Cthulhu.
-If you kill a tiny pink slime you can put it on bombs and they become bouncy. really bouncy. the things will go everywhere.
-Multiplayer is now no longer difficult to set up and can be done through steam.

Cons:
-12-year-olds hate it, prefer minecraft, and will try to fight you
-You should question the morality of doing harm to 12-year-olds
-Guide leaves the door open and zombies kill you
-lava, which kills you.

An amazing juxtaposition of a RPG-Strategy and a Tower Defense. It manages to pull this off very well, without neglecting story. Additionally, it contains a functional New Game+ mode. very good, 8/10
