Early Access Review
Honestly, it was worth it when it first came out, but they lagged behind current VR titles and now there are replacements such as "Grimlord VR" which is already putting this game to shame.

Their latest news had all my hopes dropped for this game...

They are not using UE5 now, No Procedural generation, Fairly limited skill tree at current stage, and they are RUSHING to get 1.0 out the door. Maybe lack of funds or love for this game, who knows at this point. it was dark for 1 year before their crappy update news came out.

Procedural Dungeons was where this game would shine, but as of now, its no more then an outdated dungeon crawler. Pre-generated caves, dungeons? Awesome for getting past that 2 hour mark and not letting players return the game once they figured out these dungeons repeat...

Grimlord VR is already catching up quick, and they are not rushing to get 1.0 out the door. They have practically the same amount of VR interactions and combat styles in terms of fighting. I'd say the AI in Grimlord is more advanced then this game at its current stage. Their Skill tree is top notch, and wow, they have a story too...

Giving that games early access release as well, lets just say i'm cheering for another game instead of trying to look at the "positives" of this news release. Can't optimize your code to UE5? Thats telling....basically stating your developers reading the UE5 conversion requirements for physics heavy gameplay did not understand the C++ callbacks to account for the physics being on its own thread now, which actually should improve performance if done right.

Good luck on the future half ass patches, I would only recommend this game if you only want something to do for a few days and drop when repetitiveness gets finally tiring..

Should not have bought it on release day. Even with day 1 patch, bugs are still everywhere! From climbing glitches that throw you off the ledge you struggled to get on, to avatar collisions while trying to grab a pipe or climbing surface making character go rubber banding, to trying to sit down (in real life) for the driving/seating part of the game to have the avatar bend over backwards, not able to reach steering wheel and steering thus affected. What intuitive nature of this "smart" stand/sit mechanic causes this so badly...were devs just playing standing up?

Game is seriously short, and story is half-done at best. Just a collection of levels that "teach" you how to use the avatars that get unlocked slowly through this "campaign". Sure, they are waiting on the "thriving" mod community to get into gear but even the support for the sdk's are not there and are not expected for awhile.

Its like the developers rushed to release this, instead of taking another 2 months to polish it. another fix it after it releases approach, poorly done.

Looking at the levels, not any fine tuning seemed to be done. The modelling work on everything shows clipping materials through each structure. There are a few levels with a gravity thing that holds the character in place or "catches" them, getting stuck in the middle or at a point where it doesn't matter how much you move, really sucks and would easily be found if it was play tested at least a little bit... I expected a lot better since it was from the boneworks team.

New players will get bored fast. Old players seem already bored.

Even as early access, and not coming from a preborn mindset, this game is getting dull fast. The concept of a runescape type VR game seems like it would have all the potential to be awesome. Yet I got to level 30 (mage), doing basic quests and farming 10 feet away from highsteppe. everything else doesn't give good experience, and the rewards you get in general are crap unless you do shard dungeons. even then its a total grindfest.

No documentation AT ALL for reborn, the wiki's are old and mostly outdated, the map seems very bland and enemies are repeating so often, its dull to look at.

Resources respawn rate are horrible (even when trying to switch shards to get more), AH is almost worthless, and hitboxes are horrible.

You can glitch into mountains, bridges, sides of rivers. Feeding your dragon seems pointless until it can't pick up your loot. A well fed dragon should at least fly faster in the races...

Drops are terrible at best, but what makes it worse is the scaling the devs did. Imlevel 30 mage, can spamcast fireball, yet i have to do 40k (2 fireballs) to kill a sapling still. It shouldn't take more then 1 at that damage. Better yet, the experience being given is completely unbalanced...

1 sapling = 75 experience, 2 fireballs worth of damage.
1 red X in the wastelands = 180-215 experience, 30 fireballs worth of damage...

And you wonder why people farm events near highsteppe...

This game has to get a lot better and the dev's need to work on getting the game playable instead of adding content (which is also slow going). They seem to not listen to other player's comments as I have read through quite a bit on this community page and the orbus community page website. I am not saying they are lazy or not nice, as they are very helpful and respond quite often, but their priorities are horribly chosen. I still recommend this game as over 100 hours of the game justifies the cost i paid.

If I could help in any way developers, let me know. I really want this game to shine too, as i've gotten my money's worth already (over 100 hours already in game).
