So I thought I should update my review now I have a few more hours. This is hands down my favourite game. It is amazing how immersive this game is. There is a good reason that this game is sometimes called "Cracktorio", I genuinely believe that this game changes how time flows. "Oh it's only 7 pm might just expand this outpost", "nice just finished, wait is that the sun rising".
How much you can customise your experience with each play-through, (and trust me you will be doing more than one), from making a nice relaxed world where the biters never attack and the resources never run dry to literally being attached from the moment you spawn and only getting 10-20 minutes use out of ore patches before they run dry to doing paraplegic lazy bastard where you can only handcraft the necessities and can only move using belts and this is without the plethora of mods that you can install. I am currently playing with Bob's + Angel's mods and the amount of expansion on vanilla is huge. There is quite a steep learning curve but once you get something a whole world of possibilities opens up, heck I have almost 800 hours and I am still learning things.

The multiplayer experience is great if you can hook some people onto the game, now you're ruining other people's sleep schedules as well as your own, But that's okay because the FACTORY MUST GROW.

The $30 price tag is absolutely worth it from a price-to-playtime perspective, (I'm at about $0.04/h) and with the customisation and mods, there is an almost endless amount of replayability. The community is one of the best I have been a part of and the number of tools and guides to help guide you on your path to becoming a true Cracktorio addict is massive, from ratio calculators [kirkmcdonald.github.io] to a tool that turns midi files into blueprints [miditorio.com] that you can play in the game.

I cannot recommend this game enough and think everyone should at least download the demo to play-through.

Time to update again as I have many more hours. still love the game to bits and can't wait for the expansion to release. Great fun with friends and still an extremely active community. Still worth whatever they are charging for it. Currently at $0.019 per hour played.
