This should have just been a TV series, the gameplay is so mind numbingly boring, spam your special moves then spam square/X rinse and repeat. Everytime I take control of Clive I groan in boredom and wish I was just at the next cutscene.
The game is entirely everything the fanbase complained about with the launch of FF13 and I spent about 20 hours waiting for the game to open up more like FF13 does to at least make it feel like a FF with the linear intro's that open into the RPG parts of the game but it never comes. I love the story and all the twists and epic moments but it feels like they forgot that they were making a video game and not a narrative alone.
If the story focused mode was literally just watch the cutscenes and play the kaiju fights the game would have been infinitely improved IMO. I played on action mode and have about 10 chapters to go to finish the game for a first playthrough, eventually I stopped doing the side quests because so many of them are baked into the main story it gets old and boring. The side quests are just generic MMO style side quests with little to no substance and the fact that at least 8 chapters of the main story are filled with this filler is absolutely infuriating. Great story terribly boring game.

Byron might be one of my favorite FF characters of all time now though I will stand for 0 slander on my Lords name.

Game sent me back to my childhood running through the woods imagining pokemon with my friends. Best adventure I've had in a game almost ever. Thank you boys for realizing a dream.

Always online was a worthless idea from the start and they should feel dumb af for this launch. Even in my solo lobbies bugs crash as im bagging money. Congrats you turned your entire fanbase against you. 37 hours 3 heists.
