So you are probably wondering why I don't recommend the game after 600 hours. The answer is simple: 90% of those hours are from 4 years ago.
I have had a lot of fun with it with friends of course, thats why I have this many hours, but the development of DayZ Standalone has been a great example of an absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of a development. I bought the game back in the alpha days like 5 years ago, what initially was supposed to be 3 years before hitting beta turned out to be 4 years of delayed updates, a joke of a beta test and finally the worst 1.00 launch. To put it short it was all lies, the game "released" when a lot of content was still missing and bugs were everywhere. At its current state (version 1.09) I can still find glitches from 4 years ago like zombies trapping you in a corner or your character suddendly jumping 5 meters up in the air when going down the stairs. The content? When people started to get really mad about the game because it would never leave developing stage they decided to release the game as it was and say it was finished, this means that base building almost doesn't work without mods, many guns were missing as well, trading can't be done without mods, cars and other land vehicles usually don't work when there are more than 20 players in the server, helicopters were added by the community and sea vehicles will not be implemented. As you can see the only good things in this game are community made mods. I still play this game from time to time with friends, but i lost all hope for this thing ever working properly a long time ago.
