My feelings are a bit complex, but the TLDR/Spoiler Free review is: Try it, don't use a guide.

Early on the charm of the game oozes out in droves, easily invoking the feel of buying an old game as a kid from a second hand store, but not having the manual so having to just experiment to find out what everything does. Certain mechanics are obtuse, and overall the first 75% of the game is just amazing. However, the final 25% has a *very* big hurdle that I'll spoiler.

The 'end game' mark you hit after activating all 3 keys has a stat-locked enemy/boss rush required to continue onward. While I get its story reasons, and honestly would have enjoyed it if it was slightly tuned down, as it is I feel its a *bit* overtuned. Thankfully the game has a built in no-fail setting. I reccomend turning it on for that section, then back off for the final bit of the game. Dramatically helped my enjoyment, and I say this as a souls vet.

Overall before the 76% mark I'd give it a good 9.5/10. Including that however I'd say its about an 8.5
