Love this game. My most played game ever. Have 500hrs + on Xbox Got on Pc in 2019 and now have 1000 hrs on PC. Even with weaker pc i can run in 1080 at ultra settings.

Game is not for the simple minded or people with extreme short attention spans. Very steep learning curve. Boring tutorials. But once you get a hold of what your supposed to do and how to control ship you'll be scooting along. Most people get help making tons of money and get the ships they want and then stop playing due to the engineering grind. Take your time learn the game and have fun dont rush to get end game.

you can be a pirate, smuggler, cargo (or human) transport, miner, explorer, factions to join, bounty hunter, assassin, covert op. Ect.

You can play Solo where your the only player, Private Group for you and your friends, or Open to encounter other players that will most likely kill you. If you become Ganked too much by other players then you can play in Solo or PG until you get a ship more capable of holding its own.

I bought this game twice and dont regret it

After playing Star Citizen though i can say that i do enjoy the Ship combat, depth of engineering, and flight of Elite. On the other hand Star Citizen feels more real. Graphics are awesome, you can walk around your ship if your into that, 80+ Ships and vehicles, Ground combat is awesome too. Both games are a blast and one does things better than the other.

Finally Got Odyssey and at first was having fun with all the new ground stuff. But then after about 20 hrs or so started to see it was just another grind. Ground missions dont really feel like they are worth it either. They pay bad, Taking out pirates at a settlement that is down because said pirates raided causes a condition where you cannot finish the missions. I abandon more ground missions than I complete due to the derpness of the ground game. Run to fast and a NPC you dont see around the corner tries to scan you and you get a fine then everyone starts to shoot you causing the mission to either fail or become a pain.

Odyssey does look nicer but I spend all my time in the ship. If you have no want to do on foot activities i would skip Odyssey until it has something more to offer or has a reason to do it. As of now the missions pay bad, its another grind with different materials that cant be used with ship material, and i just feels pointless doing anything on foot.
