Gears 5 is difficult to explain. I played the original 3 but 4 never grew on me and we don't talk about judgement. Gears 5 feels like a gears game again but not focused on the Fenix family which feels refreshing. Game play is solid. Horde has interesting new mechanics. I have not tried out escape yet. What I do miss is the big Horde bosses from number 3. All in all solid game well worth the purchase.
