CLANNAD contains hands down some of the most beautiful stories I've experienced in any format, and can truly change the perspective of how you view life and all that life has to offer. The game offers a plethoa of choices, meaning that you can alter the story rather well in each playthrough, and each choice matter. This is also accompanied by the truly outstanding music and visuals, and getting through all of demands quite some time.

Although I do enjoy story based games in the genre of this, I cant say I felt satisfied with this game. At no point did the story grip me

SPOILERS: and the fact that no explanation to what happened to the world so to speak, made it feel like just an excuse to bring 4 characters into what seemingly is a pointless love affair. The church and the supposed monster was not intriguing at all and at no point did I feel anything for the characters, and the ending was poorly done. I can see the point of leaving the player to interperet their own conclutions, and that certainly is a great way to wrap up/explain a story, but it just doesnt work here. SPOILERS FINISHED

I'm not gonna say anything about the gameplay, because there really arent any. Thats not a bad thing itself, as there are other games such as Dear Esther which master this quite well. The graphics were poor, and very immersion breaking which is key for a game like this to work. So in my opinion, when the art-sy aspect of the game and the story doesnt deliver, its not worth it.
