My candidate for the best speedrunning game ever made. Once you're used to it all, you can beat it in an hour on average, but you could challenge yourself to go through it even faster. It's enjoyable every single step of the way, and still enjoyable on your twentieth playthrough.

I recommend going into the game blind because the finale is really something special... that is, if you by some god forsaken chance didn't get spoiled on it already.

This game is different. Very different. Far too different from what I'm used to, unfortunately. I just can't click with it.

Still, I am recommending it because it's one of the janky multiplayer source engine games, and you really can't go wrong with those.

I only bought this game because I was craving for pinball but couldn't be bothered to hunt for real machines. Good enough at what it does, but don't act like me. If you want pinball, find some damn pinball around your town.

It also really doesn't help that the game has DLC far up its own ass.

Enter the Gungeon, but before Enter the Gungeon, and better than Enter the Gungeon in virtually every single way. The pace is satisfyingly fast, there are a wide variety of playable characters with distinct abilities, and there are some secret routes to further spice things up. It may run at 30FPS normally, but who ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cares when the game is so great!?

I tried to like this game. I really did. I struggled for several hours just trying to unlock Bumbo the Weird, and only when I finally got him did the pacing not make me say "Oh my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ god, this is slower than Enter the Gungeon." Even then, I rarely feel comfortable with the game, thinking that any one mistake is enough to ruin my entire run.

If you are desperate for more Isaac content, I strongly suggest playing I. RULE instead, a fangame that takes cues from Plants vs. Zombies.

Between my other beloved co-op titles that are Left 4 Dead and Deep Rock Galactic, this game is more in the middle. A very janky experience, but I've long since acquired the taste and can enjoy it for what it is.

But seriously, it has among the most quotable voice acting of any game I've ever played, stacking up to Valve's standard of quality. Repeat after me... IT'S RAINING MONEEEEYY!!!!

Better than Half-Life 2? For sure. Better than Half-Life 1? That's a much harder question to answer. This is a very competent game overall, but the original Half-Life still has certain charms to it which are not rendered obsolete. The two games have individual strengths and weaknesses.

Where this game definitely falters is one of its final chapters, "Interloper". It is an absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mess that drags down the overall quality of the game through its sheer length and tedium. On repeat playthroughs, I will just skip ahead to "Nihilanth". Never again.

Finally, a multiplayer game that captures my interest in the same way as the Source engine juggernauts; Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead and Dino D-Day. And unlike those titles, this game's maps are procedurally generated, heightening the replay value through the roof.

Just be sure that, if you find an object called Compressed Gold, mark it so people can flood each other's ears with "WE'RE RICH!"

The single most egregious case of "buyer's remorse" I've had in quite a few years. Solid gameplay cannot save what is otherwise a heavily lacking platform fighter relative to other entries in the genre.

I feel horrible for Ludosity. Since they previously developed Slap City, they had the potential to make this game truly special, but it was the suits at Nickelodeon who sat at the top of the hierarchy, and they did not give a flying ♥♥♥♥ about how the end result turned out. Just another example of how heartless corporate executives can be.

A game that Valve abandoned faster than Artifact.

While Left 4 Dead 2 makes this game obsolete, I still prefer some of its implementations and modded them into the sequel as much as I could.
