In my opinion, this the most polished and well-balanced tower defense game on the market - while it is a high price point compared to similar games, I feel the amount of work that has gone into Legion TD 2 justifies this.

The game has plenty of depth and skill expression. Unlike a number of other TD games, there is also healthy player base of all skill levels, so you have the opportunity to practice and learn without getting steamrolled as soon as you step into matchmaking.

Let me preface this by saying I have 1,500+ hours playing Paradox games - I'm not a master, but I know my way around them comfortably.

This game has absolutely no depth whatsoever - it is just straight map painting. While map painting (conquering as much land as possible) is a common theme across all Paradox titles, in Imperator: Rome the majority of game mechanics are shallow enough to be ignored in favour of building a bigger army and conquering more - there is nothing to do between wars other than wait for your manpower to regenerate. Later in the game, you could ignore even this mechanic by buying mercenaries.

TL;DR - There is no reason to buy this game in its current state. Any of the earlier Paradox titles do the same thing better.

Enjoyable alternative to other popular CCGs like Hearthstone or Gwent. Better F2P system than Hearthstone or Gwent (bearing in mind that Gwent is still in beta) from what I have seen so far, very generous with packs and arena rewards. Worth taking a look at if you enjoy other games in the genre.

Pretty much an inferior game to other MMO's available. Just because its f2p doesn't mean you can skimp on the quality of the game that much. Horribly jerky animations, poorly done cutscenes and pretty boring gameplay. You don't need to sink large amounts of hours into this game to realise it isn't great.
