Not Worth Your Time.

Skills feel bland and and unimpactful.
Weapons all feel samey and weightless.
Quests/Missions are all repetitive; Go here Talk to X, Go to location, Kill X Enemies, Repeat. No real mission variety.
Bosses and Minibosses are all HP sponges with 'phases' that just replenish their health.
Optimization is bad on low/mid end PC's in the open world causing a lot of frame drops.
It's NEXON, so expect terrible monetization; $5 to change the color of a SINGLE piece of armor, $24 to 'forma' your gear to max module slots ect.

You CAN grind for all non-cosmetic/Battlepass gear in the game, But its filled with timegated crafting, low RNG drop chances for the BPs, And incentivizes you every step of the way to spend real money to speed it up.

Overall the game doesn't offer anything new or better over Warframe or Destiny 2.

Overall:
You can do all content in the game as F2P, and trade/farm just fine albeit slightly slower and with less QoL in certain places.

Reason for the negative review despite that is, I dislike the pet gacha system, along with pets carrying over between seasons/leaugues. The whole selling point for me with new seasons in arpgs is the fresh start with everyone being on equal footing and pets negate that.
And if you're someone who likes to min/max the game as much as possible in terms of Farming Strats then getting the pets to do that(Chalk/Pirate/Season Pets/Ect) becomes very exspenive(With Real $) to do so unless you get lucky in your initial pulls when you start the game.

Gameplay:
Endgame Loop(Lv80+, T7+) Is fun and enjoyable with alot of mapping strats to try and various bosses or out of map content to farm.
Trait system is robust and offers a lot of build customization, and respeccing traits is easy even as F2P.
Skill system is fully open so you can use any skill on any hero ect.

Monetization:
New characters are locked behind a ($15) Battlepass, Which then become stand-alone purchasable next season for $15 Cash Shop Currency, Then one season after THAT you can purchase them with extremely limited F2P currency (Hero Emblems).
You get a basic auto-loot from the free battlepass which picks up most low-tier currency, To get the advanced auto-loot which expires at the end of every season you need to purchase the Battlepass.
The battlepass itself offers very little value outside of the early character unlock and adv auto-loot. Unlocking nearly the full BP only grants enough currency for 1.5 Pet pulls. It Includes RNG Chests which have a chance to give currency(Jagged Primo) for extra pulls but have an extremely low chance and often reward respec tokens instead.
Extra Auction House slots are rent-able and need to be repurchased every season.
Inventory Slots have a scaling cost which starts out cheap and ramps quickly.
Cosmetic MTX is locked behind a Gacha system, So you currently cannot purchase a specific MTX directly.
Pets are locked behind a Gacha system, And carry over between seasons, And while most the pets are useless, Some offer HUGE endgame advantages to certain drops or to lessen the XP Penalty which make getting currency/xp noticeably faster if you know how to utilize them.
A Season Themed Pet is released with each league which so far has offered impactful buffs to that leagues content; But its locked behind a Gacha system.

Random Notes/Thoughts/Feedback:
Currently as a F2P on a fresh account you'll get around ~45 free pulls for pets if you complete all the seasonal activities and new player goals. New players can use Hunter's Journey to guarantee at least 1 Legendary pet within 30 pulls, After that you have to use the normal pull methods which have low odds.

The default Inventory/Stash space is plenty in most cases, as you wont be picking up white/rare items in the late game.

Unlocking Heroes shouldn't be timegated so hard; I'm fine with paying $ to unlock new heroes in a F2P game, but it shouldn't take 3-6 months for that hero to be rotated into the shop if you happen to miss it in the initial battlepass.
The game does use a lot of common mobile game shticks to try and keep you logging in and paying; Like multiple events that are based on daily logins and cant be missed, Gacha systems, Rent-able Features, Ect.

Dev's have no idea which direction they want to take with the game and change core game mechanics every couple of months which essentialy wipe all gear progress you've made. And they cant figure out how to balance their game which always results in 1-2 towers(PDT/Archers)being brokenly OP and being spammed everywhere on the map.
And theres still the same bugs in the game from a year+ ago(Ogre's getting stuck inside spawns or bugging through defenses) which causes you to have to restart the map and lose ~15min+ of progress in most cases.

Then the newest Ascension system they added is just a clone of Marvel Heroes Omega system that just makes you have to grind levels for hours upon hours until you can advance to the next difficulty.

So if you're looking for an annoyingly buggy and grindy game with dev's that cant decide which directiion they want to take the game then this game is for you otherwise go play Sanctum/SC2TD/or DD1 if you're looking for a Towew Defense fix.
