Good points: Interesting characters, nice voice over work, game looks very pretty. Playable/important characters have good designs. I look forward to playing more.
Bad points: I played for 2 h and events I thought would be combat were not, I haven't fought anything yet! I don't like how the background characters/NPCs don't have character models, they are just various coloured silhouettes - somewhat disappointing and seems the game designers got lazy, even copy and pasted models would have been better.

Super relaxing, slow paced village building sim. There is no 'age' or technology progression, the village remains in a pre-medieval era for the duration, with the only goal being to expand and grow the population under challenging conditions such as harsh winters, weather disasters, infertile land, etc. It's a great game to just hop onto for an easy couple of hours casual gaming. If you're into building sim games, this is a nice addition to your library.

What is there to say? It's a suped-up version of the original. Incredibly nostalgic. I remember playing AoE2 every Friday after school with a dial up modem and MSN Gaming Zone! If you're an oldschool fan of the original, added features and new civilisations make this a delight, with enough of a new learning curve to keep you on your toes for the first couple of games. if you're new to RTS games, well, what better place to start?

On a side note, my fairly modern work laptop actually struggled to play multiplayer games of this 90s game!! My gaming machine handles it no problem though.
