Fun game, very short though. Once me and a friend unlocked the smoke bombs the game became extremely easy and we got all 3 crowns in about 30 minutes, hoping to see more levels in the future.

Campaign is not low player-count friendly, and frames on the campaign missions are abysmal since the mission makers decided to put hundreds of AI on the missions without dynamic simulating them (200-300 just on the first mission alone). Map itself is amazing and every building can be entered but that comes at the cost of frames which the Global Mobilization dlc also suffered from (around 40 fps with the map empty), textures are extremely well done too.

Things i am surprised to not be in the dlc are Panthers, Stug's, and any kind of transport that isnt a half track (no jeeps, no trucks, etc)


For those wondering what my specs are while complaining about frames:

i7-10700k
32gb ram

I normally get 60fps even with the game heavily modded on ultra settings so to get frames in the 10's and 20's with no mods and just the dlc is pretty bad.

Ignore the reviews that say the devs "abandoned the game" if these people were in the discord they would know this game is nothing more than a passion project. For what it is, its a great game, but i do wish they had added just a little more.

First update in almost a year (1.3) and its a 35GB UPDATE which pushes the dlc to be 60gb that adds only some content they promised to be in the game within a year and it has been 2 1/2 years. I know making modded content takes a while but instead of delivering us all of the drivable vehicles they promised (there so many unique vehicles in towns that you cant even drive) and still no helicopters that were promised over 2 years ago.

Update seems to be heavily focused on the russian involvement in the war which is cool but myself and plenty of other people are still waiting on the promised additions from release, it would also be more beneficial to the longevity of the dlc if they released updates constantly instead of once a year 30gb+ updates that a lot of people probably dont have the space for, thats the size of a whole game (entire dlc is now 60 gigabytes, with an extra 50 gigabyte download on first install due to gamefiles unpacking, meaning a 110gb total download on first install)


For now i recommend this dlc, it is very fun to play even on public servers but i have a disdain for the developers.

Terrible fps drops, stuttering, and ping. The game devs decided it would be a good idea to put people in any server available rather than a server in their region almost every single match i played was in an EU or Asia server which resulted in me having so much ping i would be teleporting around or have so much stutter it was like a slideshow. The gunplay is bland since Assault Rifles and SMG's dominate the battlefield because the LMG's are so inaccurate and have an absurd ADS time they are useless unless you are point blank with someone (and even then you will miss 50% of your shots if you hipfire at point blank), and the Snipers have such a long ADS time you will need to spend the whole match sitting in one spot watching one location to have any hope of getting kills. All of this on top of the microtransactions for things we could have just earned by playing in the original release (uniform camos, gun camos, cosmetics, etc) and the lack of RPG warheads like in the original to counter vehicles make this game a terrible experience.

Forgot to mention, they want you to pay $50 for a battle pass to unlock new maps, new guns, new cosmetics, etc. all stuff that should be included in the already barren wasteland of cosmetic options. If they were going to make the game free to play, they shouldnt be hiding content behind a paywall of a full priced game.

I have nearly 200 games on steam, and out of all of those games this is the only one i have felt i need to write a negative review for, the game may be free to play but its not worth it, trust me.

been playing the game on and off for over a year and the development process has been great and the end result is great, the final release is not what i was expecting but it is still a good game, definitely not a Steel Beasts but if you enjoy the playstyle of War Thunder ground forces but dont want to rage because someone sniped you with a 1970's atgm from 1km away while you are in your tiger II then this is the game for you

Fun game, however servers are dead most of the time and you cant join a match that has already been started.

After 1100 hours it is almost safe to say i am no longer an arma noob, so i will write a review.

If you are big into the milsim/military shooter/ hardcore fps scene then this game is definitely for you. HOWEVER with that said, there is a very huge learning curve for the game and even after 1000+ hours there is still things i am learning, and still things i dont know how to do effectively (using drones for CAS as an example). If you really want to make the game hardcore/realistic, there is plenty of mods to help with that such as RHS, CUP, and dozens of other weapon, uniform, vehicle, map, and quality of life mods. There is also plenty of groups to play with ranging from people who just play semi-casually (TSB, IIIE, CasTac, etc), to the hardcore groups such as TFC, 506th(super hardcore), 5/75 RR, etc. Hell, there is even warhammer (700th, 836th, etc) and starwars units (501st, 101st, 212th, etc) for people who enjoy that!
