Really neat that gearbox bought the game and then made it unplayable. Online functionality is gone, crashes on normal, non DLC gameplay. If you want to play the game, you need to find ways to downpatch it to before the DLC was released and they rewrote the engine.

An exceptional tower-defense/mining colony game; a modern take on classic champions of the flash era of games. Highly recommended, it has polish on the levels of BTD6 even in early access. I have experienced no bugs and the current progression is already highly filled out.

If you're getting this for a dedicated gaming PC and arent concerned with potential performance issues, ignore this review.

Beautiful looking game and the initial gameplay shows promise, but I sadly cannot recommend this if you're planning on playing this on the steam deck like I was. The performance isn't there and the options to reach it are not available:
I wish there were graphics options that would allow you to better reach the higher framerates, but the game only offers toggling between different AI upscaling methods for some reason. So your options are 'pretty but a little blurry' or 'an oily sludge at high fps'. I wish I could just turn it off and drop most of the visual effects down, but with dynamic resolution and AI blurry upscaling it just is a mess.

Game's a great third person horde shooter, however the community has a bit of an angry gamer-redditor hivemind issue sometimes and rages hard at all updates. Sad the review scores are generally worthless because of it.

My only guidance is: get it if you can guarantee another friend will join you, otherwise I don't think this would be worth it singleplayer. If you do have friends who will play this, easily one of the best games you'll have in your library.
