Brick breaker meets bullet hell in a game that tries to be humorous in cut scenes with full voice acting, though it's a bit tropey.
There are collectables to grab including spells (consumable attacks) ball upgrades, buffs and coins. Get enough coins in a level and you can capture an enemy, adding it to your bestiary to read up on later. Lots of things here to give collectathon fans a run for their money.
The gameplay is standard "bounce the ball around the screen and don't let it drop off the bottom" style, but with projectiles and debuffs to also dodge. There are boss fights which are different enough to keep things interesting.
The main thing I'm impressed by in this game is the sound design and graphic effects which are very polished.
A small downside of these graphics is that sometimes the bullethell effect has too much on screen to tell where your ball is, though this has only happened for me once or twice.

Charming little RTS from a solo developer that scratches the old-school itch from 90s/00s era games.

The game isn't massively deep but it kept me playing for a fair few hours

4-player co-op hack and slash vs hordes of ratmen and/or chaotic berserkers.
There's exploration in the levels to find secrets and plenty of depth to character customisation with talents & gear,
The long-awaited PvP is out now too so you can play it from both sides.

A whole lot of fun, especially if you can get a bunch of friends to go dungeon-delving with you.

Jesper Kyd is a fantastic composer and this soundtrack is one of his best.

It's very much nostalgia-driven for me but Rebel Base has always been one of my go to "chillout" tracks but there's plenty more that's great for getting you pumped.

A fun little autobattler that has you playing as your favourite zerg/tyranid/arachnid/<insert gribbly alien here> as you move from site to site wiping out the vile human infestations.

Each level appears as a real-time strategy game with you in the role as a general that suggests where your forces go, then scream as they go the wrong way. But underneath there's a subtle layer of puzzle-solving that soon has you throwing wave after wave of your own buggos at the enemy until you or they have reached their kill-quota.

Cutscenes are few and far between but always enjoyable.

While the game is functional, it isn't *fun*

The combat, crafting and level-up aspects are all bare bones leading to a very slow & repetitive gameplay loop that doesn't feel rewarding.

I did also encounter a few bugs, one of which had a "hardcore" character die on the first login screen.

Short but fun puzzle room. Almost everything was fairly self-explanatory and the game flowed pretty well.

Metroidvania meets JRPGs.
For the price tag I was expecting a fun diversion for a few hours. I am blown away by how much this game has to offer. The exploration alone has kept me busy for some 30+ hours but the combat is very in-depth and allows precise micromanagement of stats and skills.
There's over 20 classes to find and unlock, a boat load of bosses and locations and the story is surprisingly nice.

Uninteresting in all regards. Storyline is borderline non-existent and the gameplay is made up of tedious fetch quests (e.g. building bridges requires hundreds of stone and you get a maximum of four stone per node).
