Went into the game with no expectations for a cyberpunk fix while waiting for Cyberpunk 2077 and was pleasantly surprised. Highly recommend checking out the demo if you enjoyed Mirror's Edge, Dishonored or Doom. The movement system builds on itself well and really conveys a sense of speed and skill as you start to combine different mechanics and split-second decisions to get through levels. The learning curve can be steep but once you get the hang of it, running through levels gives a feeling of pure adrenaline and the instant checkpoint/re-try system allows you to perfect your course through the harder levels through trial and error without waiting on loading screens after each death. The boss fights do a good job of making you use many different mechanics in unison to succeed. The polished graphics and intricate world building make for a very immersive environment and will definitely scratch that cyberpunk itch. Overall a very fun and unique game!

Excellent horror/mystery game. The control scheme and perspective were reminiscent of Silent Hill 2, and includes some genuinely panic inducing moments. The atmosphere is also great, with beautiful visuals to boot. The story seems a little convoluted but comes together nicely towards the end. All in all, a solid game with good pacing and scares.

While not all that scary, FEAR 3 makes a decent FPS. The gunplay is well done; guns sound heavy and powerful. The pistol alone has a great feel that will make you want to use it over more powerful weapons. The enemy AI is particularly good; soldiers will dive for cover and aggressively flank you, forcing you to change up your tactics instead of camping behind cover and taking potshots. The game isn't all action however, and there are some atmospheric moments in the game that horror fans will appreciate. Once the main campaign is complete, the second character is unlocked, and the game can be played again with him. This actually gives a different gameplay experience because the second character focuses more on psychic abilities as opposed to brute force. The game can also be played through in co-op with a friend, using both characters at the same time. There are also some unique multiplayer modes, but unfortunately seems to be devoid of players.

Probably the best recent Battlefield game out there. Battlefield 3 was alright but the look and feel of this game beats it by far. The sound design is amazing, gunfire can be heard across the battlefield and reverberates deafeningly when firing indoors. The guns have rich, deep sound, and while not entirely realistic, they don't sound tinny like in Battlefield 3. You'll notice that if you stop shooting in BF3, everything is pretty much quiet if you aren't in the middle of a fight. In Bad Company 2, you can hear the sounds of firefights raging in the distance and can often locate them purely through sound. It really adds to the action and makes it feel like you're just one soldier in the middle of a huge warzone. This also has more destructibility than Battlefield 3. Pretty much every building can be leveled with grenades, C4 or other explosives. The maps are very varied with lots of possible routes and positions for different classes. All in all, an excellent game, and my favorite multiplayer shooter. Consider getting the Vietnam expansion, it includes period weapons, armor, and even music, which really helps set the mood.

Awesome horror game with excellent visuals and atmosphere. It is by far the scariest game I have ever played. It has a unique combat system in that there isn't one... you have no weapons and all you can do to escape the game's enemies is run and hide and hope they don't find you. This really adds to the horror and makes you panic way more than any other horror game. It also includes some clever puzzles and always keeps you on edge. Overall, a great horror adventure game.

A very good game with certain aspects similar to STALKER, partly because the same people were involved in the making. Really good post apocalyptic desperation feel, everyone is living underground in the metro and going outside is very dangerous as many wild mutants roam the snow covered post-apocalyptic landscape. Some very interesting gameplay mechanics that add to the realism and fights. Many interesting monsters too, my favorite being the librarian. They are very dangerous and intimidating but staring them in the eye will make them walk away eventually. The game almost always makes you feel like keeping your guard up as the monsters can easiy overrun you. All in all a very good game with excellent atmosphere.

This game doesn't seem to be all that popular. You may not have even heard of it before, but once you play it you will keep going back. The game has a very dedicated fanbase and you'll see why when you play it. More than the game itself, the atmosphere of the environment makes you want to explore and discover the secrets of the Zone. Unlike most mainstream games, STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl affects you psychologically and gets you interested in the subject matter. All in all its a great game that uses atmosphere and interaction to make you feel how hard the Stalkers have to struggle in order to survive in the harsh, unforgiving, yet strangely beautiful landscape of the Zone.

this is a very diverse game with lots of different things to do. very action packed since a key element of the game is to cause chaos through destruction. massive open world with varying terrain, weather, population, etc. unique grapple and parachute system that works really well once you get the hang of it. try the demo if you're interested
