I finally got around to playing this after a few years. This is my first Steam Review and I'm only making this because of how trash the prequel's story is. I loved the original game, this prequel is trash and I do not recommend you waste your time playing it. The story is completely nonsense from start to finish. It feels completely rushed and slapped together. And it doesnt explore the time near or right after Rachel went missing. Then the story itself is just trash with nothing eventful really happening. I was never drawn into the story. Only in Episode 3 does it get somewhat interesting but its also stupid and feels forced to create conflict. The freaking DA hired a drug dealer...A DRUG DEALER to keep his baby mama away from Rachel. He could've just idk, GOTTEN A RESTRAINING ORDER! There is no way a man is that stupid to think he has to go that extreme to keep the mom away. Then Elliot just randomly has a mental collapse to confront you at the broken in residence of Rachel's house. The lines in it are so cheesy too. You can tell they just added it to create some sort of drama. Then when you actually get there for the fight against the drug dealer, you get knocked out...and Frank handles it...WITHOUT YOU! Completely anti-climactic. Also, idk if this game was aiming to make me feel sympathetic to Rachel or Chloe but it didn't. Their friendship (or romance if you went that way) feels completely forced. They randomly meet, then all of a sudden their supposed to be best mates. This games only takes place within a week's time (I think 3 days). Ep3 ends with a montage of the months leading up to the 1st game....WHY DIDN'T WE PLAY ALL OF THAT??? The game would've been way better had the story took the time to show them gradually becoming friends, then possibly allowing us to play as Chloe after Rachel disappears in the last episode. Not have us rush through a quick story about DA corruption, arson, and kidnapping that happens in ONE WEEK lol sounds crazy right.. I guess the time after that week was all love and happiness with no more life issues. I guess David and Chloe got along the whole time. Victoria didn't bully them anymore. On that note, it would've been way more interesting to see Nathan's decent into darkness. THEY DIDN'T EVEN SHOW HOW RACHEL BECAME THE TARGET AT ALL! Absolutely missed storyline and wasted potential. I Haven't played the bonus episode yet. But Ep1-3 were so trash I just would recommend you not even play this.
