Predecessor is a hidden gem in the MOBA world, and it's worth keeping an eye on, especially considering it comes from a first-time development team. The devs at Omeda Studios took on the ambitious task of reviving Paragon, and they’ve been actively developing Predecessor with dedication and transparency. Though the game may not be as polished as some would hope, there’s no doubt it will get there in time. The consistent updates and improvements are proof of their commitment.

The game feels balanced, fluid, and—most importantly—fun. Whether you’re in the middle of an intense team fight or making calculated plays, the gameplay has a cinematic feel to it, keeping you hooked from start to finish. The hero designs are robust and solid, with each character bringing their own unique flair to the battlefield. It's clear that a lot of thought has gone into making the heroes feel impactful and dynamic.

While ranked isn't in an optimal state at the moment, the developers have acknowledged this and, with time and player support, there’s confidence it will get in the right place. It’s a work in progress, but everything points to a bright future for competitive play.

I highly recommend giving Predecessor a shot. Many of the negative reviews stem from players who don’t take losing well. As this is a competitive game, frustration is inevitable, but if you take a deeper look at these reviews, you’ll notice they rarely mention the actual mechanics or the fun factor of the game.
