"Early access forever" people say. It's true, 9 years of polishing a game is a lot, but what do you get for that? As someone who hasn't played it since the day I was born, what I see is a fantastic Zombie survival game. The start of the game has you on edge as you'll likely be dying to the zombies, especially at night. You'll fight zombies, forage, gather, and build your way to what may be a successful horde night defense. The implementation is excellent. Now, for however you want to try the game differently there are mods, glorious, excellent mods. The community in this game is a marvel and adds more to the game than the devs could keep up with. You'll almost certainly want more of this game by the time you reach the end of vanilla and should end up trying mods that expand the game, make it harder, more POIs, more zombies, more everything. I can't wait to see what the final released state is, but I can say that in it's current state at Alpha 20 I absolutely cannot recommend this game enough.
