the perfect metroid like game. A nice movement feel, Massive map, heart crushing story, Tons of collectibles (over 100, in game currency to buy locations on your map, along with in game upgrades to make a noise when you enter a room) finding them isnt a chore of looking behind every rock and smashing every vase to lean up against the edge of the map and look for a secret. Its well thought out. The bosses are all unique in there attack pattern. No guide is needed when playing this game if you want to 100% it wich is awesome. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a fun single player game to get lost in. Overall it looks like it should take around 10h to 100% on medium difficulty. Worth it for the price point.

overall a fun game, can get a bit repetitive once you realize the cycle of, new zone, upgrade bullets, find gears, do boss, repeat for the 4 zones. The variety of different bullets makes for a lot of unique gun builds. I found my self sticking to a single build that worked well for me. If you are a fan of diablo and loot n shooters like borderlands, this game is a lot of fun, solo or co-op.

6th DLC that's just cosmetic. No new missions, No new achievements, No reason to come back and play.

Game is nothing compared to the previous two games, Stick of truth, and Fractured but whole. Only 4h in playtime and i have beat the game on hard on my first run through. Only 5 missions, a total of 3 melee weapons and 3 ranged weapons. No armor, no different tier weapons to find or upgrade too. The only upgrade system they have implemented is the same you would find in a rouge like game. The one being a false sense of achievement. For the Black matter a lot of the upgrades seem like they could be there from the start because it is all player stat based. increase speed by 30%, increase damage by 10% ect. not really upgrades, just nerfes your paying to have undone. With the in game cards that get reset after each run, They are fun and unique, but with the limited amount of weapons to choose from, they become repetitive fast, making you tend to stick to the same builds that work. There are no collectables in the game to try and hunt down unlike the first two. The maps look so amazing and were fun to explore, only to be left disappointed when there was a invisible wall blocking the path or a roll of toilet paper waiting for me. There just wasnt any pay off for looking around. The comedy was alright for the first mission then slowly became non southpark type humor. Its hard to describe, buts like watching a pg-13 southpark that has a lot of mature jokes replaced with well nothing, no boundries were being pushed, it was such a safe game, it didnt feel like it was made by the southpark team at all. If you are a big fan of south park and really want to play this game, please for the love of god wait till its on sale.


Multiplayer : I dont understand this new trend of multiplayer having literally 0 communication system. Why have voice chat to talk to your teamates, when you can have a silly emote of a thumbs up or down. Want to tell your teamates to hurry up? cant. Want to let them know they missed a chest / upgrade? cant. This game is the perfect multiplayer game if you want to sit in isolation and not talk to your teammates what so ever. Not even a in game chat system. Just emotes. This is the standard now a days for a *multiplayer* release. but why?



One of my biggest enjoyments with Stick of Truth is getting to actually be in the world of southpark, seeing familiar places from the show, and easter eggs sprinkled throught. Its all just snow here. Sure you can see City Wok and 2 other places from a certian angle on a level if you look at the background. But it just feels like you arent really in southpark too much

The game is a fun idea, but a bit short. The difficulty increases around level 15, then 30, by introducing obstacles on to the track you have to avoid or jump over. The shooting mechanic seems like it was ripped from all there previous games being the same gun. I really wish they add new weapons in future games. The enemies are unique, but are all the same color, could have made some neon orange, or a dark blue, or even neon pink. Theres so many colors to choose from, so to use one for every enemy seemed kinda lazy. The game mechanic of constantly running forwards only to control the direction you are dodging, or side to side is a unique idea, i wish they branched off this more instead of keeping it as the whole game design. Unfortunately there are no achievements with this game, But there is a high score page. If the trailer looks interesting to you, pick up the game, I ended up refunding mine after 30minutes.

after reading other reviews of glitched achievements and janky controlls, i thought you know what, its a small studio, people might be expecting too much from it, lets give it a shot!

What a frustrating mess of a game

Pro's : the art style is unique and eye catching, its vibrant and each level looks like a lot of effort and care went in to the design. The Story is easy to understand with no in game dialog needed. The mechanics of collecting something in a level, to then use it later on in a boss, is a fun concept i enjoy'd. This gave a lot of value to bonus levels where you could only attempt it once, but the reward made it worth it. The soundtrack in this game had my head bobbing along to every level, the sound effects were pleasant and not annoying. The over world looks so amazing in this game.

Cons : This game feels like it was made by someone who never playd through every level completely, but was learning how to make a game. The begging levels are extremely basic for difficulty and mechanics. By the time you hit the first world boss. its just a cannon and shooting the collectables you found. By the final boss, its a 4 stage boss, with parkour in between the buttons, pixel perfect jumps, tight timing, and rng of where bullets are being shot. This goes for the level 6-1 as well. It took over 30 minutes to complete, where any other level took under 10 minutes to 100%. I thought the deathless achievements in this game would be a fun challenge to aim for, doing world 1 was beyond easy. But once you hit later on worlds you realise each section of the map was only done once to see if it was do-able. If each level was fully tested from start to finish, i think it would be obvious how silly the achievements are. Enemys AI that chase you is made to catch up to the player no matter what, there speed increases the more distance they are away from you until they are 10 pixels behind you then they go back to being a snails pace. This is unfair if you as a player are running fast trying to find secrets and need to back track, only to have the thing chasing you be right behind you already. I found my character to get stuck on random invisible pixels during the maze level. This again shows things werent tested too much, just attempted until it was do-able then put in. The achievements in this game are still bugged. Anything related to world 5 unlocks for world 4 and vice versa. If simple fixes like these are missed, it just seems like the game was made and sent out. There have been multiple people complaining about issues with the game and nothing has gotten fixed. I can only reccomend this game for the ascetics. Nothing about the gameplay after world 3 made me want to continue playing it.

What makes this game different from the original risk of rain ? maybe a few items, maybe a few tweaks, or some small edits to the levels. This could have been a patch for the first game. Instead we get to pay 20$ to re-play the first risk of rain?

As much fun as the first 3 or 4 levels were, how they choose to increase difficulty not by having harder enemies, but by level 7, 90-95% of your deaths will be from falling in to pits. There are so many platforming sections with ranged enemies, this game becomes less of a combat game, and more of a bullet hell game with tight platforming. A single shot from a enemy will bounce you 20ft back and off your platform with no chance of any save. The amount of rooms you need to clear in level 7 before checkpoints is beyond stupid. Boss's from previous levels become normal enemies here, fighting them back to back with no saves and no items. . . fun? Some will have a item and health spawn, but the most do not, so if you win hit a checkpoint then die, you loose your power ups for the next fight.

TLDR: Game was fun at the start but level/skill curve becomes less combat focused and more tight platforming and boss fights with no items.
