stumbled across the game in my library from a bundle i got years ago. Finally got around to playing it, Reminded me of bubble bobble, or what ever the old arcade game was, but with a new take on it, the weapon upgrades were a lot of fun, i wish they lasted longer, but compared to the length of the level, the last a decent amount of time. Id recommend this game to anyone who finds the gameplay looks fun

Luck, The Game
Just wanna start off by saying, nothing like failing 6 78% attack rolls across your 3 characters all in a row, only to not hit the enemy once.
you must be thinking, wow that enemy must have a lot of evasion stats, or caused some effect that jangled with my accruacy but nope. He had a skill where you can only hit him if its a perfect rolled attack.What a fun thing for the player, great design, just click a button for rng and see if you win or not, not too much skill in the game.
Dont get me wrong, i love a game with stats, i dont mind my weapon doing a variable amount of damage between X-X amount depending on rng, im ok with randomly missing swings because it lists the % chance of that landing. What i find really frustrating about this game is the balance between RNG and trying to play it safe. There is no middle ground when doing a mini game/ challenge on the board. Its either RNG is on your side and you get a item, or some gold and some XP, whoo nice work! Or its not on your side and your whole team gets hurt, or you get minus some XP, or a enemie encounter with just your characters that are close by. There is no, middle ground where nothing happens, thats what makes this so frustrating, if you want a good run, just keep on playing till you get lucky and are able to do all your rolls, hope enemies dont attack first for battles or target your healer, hope the shop is selling a better weapon instead of lower tier ones. Just so much luck in it, i understand its supposed to add a replability factor to the game, ny making every run different, but games have gotten to the point theres so many mechanics and features that are never explained but left up to chance and guessing and learning from death. Oh neat a enemy spat acid on me, Oh it dissovled my only weapon . . . Hey that imp is spamming spells so i should focus him first, oh he has a evade perk that makes it so anything that isnt a PERFECT rolled hit is a miss . . . Oh you wanted to attack? too bad your in a stun loop with enemies so have fun watching them attack 4 times while you attack once. . .
The death in this game, theres no way to make saves, so once your team gets wiped, have fun restarting that whole campaign. . . How come a spell that has a 80% land rate, fails almost every time when i try it on a enemy 1 or two levels higher than me? im guessing because they have higher evade stats but the game dosent show or tell even what those are or do. If you already know everything about table top games like this and get the stats lingo, i can see how its fun, if you have no understanding of any of it, the game dose very little to break down what all the numbers at the bottom of your screen mean.

Wooow, so theres a in game shop to spend tokens to unlock different board pieces and better end game gear, i ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hate games that put this grindy mechanic in to their games for the sake of "content". A lot of the things you unlock are pretty much needed if you want to beat the game. Your first 5 attempts in the game you will fail no matter what because of this artificial sense of progression. It forces the player to play the game longer in order to beat it, when this stuff should be unlocked from the beginning, like idol statues giving better stats, or being able to encounter random tiles with healers on them, instead of wasting 5 turns getting your 3 players back to a inn to heal. Then theres unlocks that are strictly chance based, They have results that range from getting a free item or some xp, to wiping out your ENTIRE PARTY, causing you to restart the campaign. Why is that even a punishment for a game in a game? theres no middle ground like mentioned earlier, so your are either doing a all rng run and praying to what ever god you believe in, Or playing it safe and dying fast due to horrible rng.

I first playd this game couch co-op at a friends house and had a blast! But after a good 8h grind in a day, ive come to see the flaws. Game is fun with friends, because you do not care if you win the campaign or not, playing single player and going for the achievements and trying to actually beat the game is just frustrating

only bad dlc for borderlands 1. You do not gain XP whil in the under dome. The loot after doing all the tours and getting the achievements stayd at white quality withe seeing one purple and a hand full of blue's. The repetitive one line dialog for completing a wave or a new modifier is added gets so boring after the 4th hour of grinding.

Only get if you want to 100% borderlands and get ALL the achievements. 5 are locked in this dlc.

The game that started a franchise. I remember first playing borderlands when a friend brought it over on xbox 360 for a sleep over, we almost beat the game that night and spent countless summer nights playing and re playing it. The characters are easy to fall in love with and a easy to hate villain. The weapons can become a bit stagnant if you find something over powerd, You may not switch weapons for the next couple of level ups. The skill tree's are unique and provide a lot of replability without the need of a grind. If you wanted to swap your skill tree out you can do that with little to no time investment other than picking out your new skills. This makes going back and farming for gear a lot of fun, you never know what new item you will find and then centre your build around. The DLC in this game is beyond amazing, It blew mine and everyone i talked to, expectations away and set a standard that unfortunately the latter games could not follow. Id highly reccommend this game to anyone whos looking for a 4 player shoot n loot type game to have fun and get lost in.

A fun and enjoyable experience. It reminds of mega man mixed with metroid. The ammo and health is like megaman, enemies drop pelets of different colors for different types of ammo or health. The layout of the levels are mixed between linear and exploring for secrets. There are 6 or 7 levels in total and 4 or 5 bosses. A lot to do and explore! The controls were responsive, no delays in input, it is a hard game with the platforming being tight, but if you like a challenge instead of a walk in the park, this might be the challenge for you. A big downside of the game is the forced screen resolution of something strange, leaving it to be a small box sitting in the middle of your screen. If you can get past that, you will enjoy this game for the price.

What a amazing game! So far its just one level, with some unique and fun game modes, like the floor is lava. The controls are easy to start playing, and hide more complex mechanics that you start to use when trying the time challenge, like speeding up in the air depending on how fast you are rotating. The achievements in this were a blast to hunt down! the first / only level has 31 collectables to find, along with a couple (i think 7) random side task achievements. Close to everything in this game can be interacted with, your either destroying something, or using a item you picked up to destroy something. Id highly recommend this to anyone, Its free and freaking fun! I just wish they had more levels, id be willing to pay for this!

What a booming game, the pace and difficulty kinda remind me of the old quake, but with shorter levels, and objectives and no key doors. The hitboxs are accurate to the point of sniping enemies, across the map out of their AI reaction range. The movement is awesome, its smooth other than trying to climb ladders but thats a rare occasion. The boss's are creative and make for a fun speed run, espically the final boss. The music ties in to what you are doing and makes it a lot more imersive of a game. Id highly reccomend this game to anyone. I used a guide to find the collectables so i 100%'d it a bit early but i do not regret it, it was a blast!

Hey you! yes you! do you like slot machine doors with a high chance they explode and never let you in? Do you enjoy trying to play games hitless, Only to have a screen filled with so much chaos, bullet images take background priority over other effects going on? Do you enjoy sometimes a monster giving you 10 gold, and almost every other time it gives you nothing, and theres no control in it? Do you enjoy constantly respawning to get a good starting item because the item pool is so big and half pointless? Do you enjoy challenge rooms with a invencible shooting head in the middle while you clear out waves of enemies, that shoot as they spawn invincible, giving less than a second to find a safe spot, and if you get hit in that room you forfiet the item for completing the room? Do you enjoy a game that dose very little to explain any information or mechanics? what are pets? what are spirits? Whats the purple or red bar on the bottom right? what dose a fire grenade do vs a regular one, they both look identcal explosion wise. what are some synergies? so many things are left to the player to find out by death or trial and harsh error. Oh cool my bullets explode, oh i have a boomerang gun and cant drop this pick up, resulting in every shot coming back and exploding on me. neat?
I think this game could have been a lot of fun, but the mechanics are horrible its like they made the perfect game, but never tested it. Or they made it the biggest grind for the sake of "fun" and chances.

Let just start off by saying, Every effect that happens in the game, explosions, your bullets, grenades, pets, other enemies, WILL COVER UP INCOMING BULLETS. YOU CANNOT SEE HALF THE STUFF COMING AT YOU, If that dosent make it bad enough, some enemies will teleport to you and do a quick attack, a common type of enemie, what they have screw'd up with this age old enemie, is making him so un predictable and fast, if you are mid air when he teleports, you will not be able to dodge the attack unless you have a 2nd jump ability, if you dont, there is no way to counter his speed. A lot of the enemies in this game have fatal flaws like this that just make you scratch your head.

At first i was annoyed at the mechanics of how to unlock things's, still kinda am, but after another 14h in game, i can say i do enjoy this, The vast majority of weapons make the replayability a lot of fun. I rarely found my self wanting to use the same weapon. Not because my last one was bad, but because how they get upgraded later on in the game. More bullets fire, faster firing speed, more damage, fire bullets, and it goes on and on, so every gun is pretty much different in every run depending on your items.

The mini game rooms in this are blast! You will be jumping on piano tiles to follow the notes raining from the sky, or playing a huge crane game, or even going fishing. The jaw dropping arstyle of these rooms really makes you want to stay a while in there, play the mini game and just enjoy it. I rarely get this feeling in games anymore.

The boss's could be more fun in the order. The game holds your hand and tells you what ones to go for. I think a lot more of a fun approach would be to let the player find those bosses with out needing the contracts/missions. A lot of times i was having a fun run, flying around with a army of pets and a trumpet blasting tunes to slay enemies, only to kill a boss and have it take me out of the game, to tell me to go back in and go 1 level deeper this time for the next boss, and repeat. This was very demotivating knowing if you have a good run, you cant loop it or go further, it just ends.

The pets and items are super creative with their naming and even how they affect you, It ciuld give you a double jump, or it could turn all your bullets in to fire ones, Or you could have a lil donald trump running around and stealing your money, or a blue baby converting hearts in to shields, but my faviourte part is how the item gets added to your character. If its a gun upgrade it gets added on to the gun, and automatically swapped over to new guns you pick up. This makes the look of the game, feel new and exciting with every run, you never know what you will end up looking like or able to do.

the mechanics of what you are unlocking and how you get those points feels like soo much of a grind, Ill never understand why basic ideas that add on to a game and make it fun, are locked behind "gem" walls, and the only way to get A gem is to kill a boss, some unlocks take 10 gems to get, in total theres over 365 gems needed to reach the final skill page. After completing a full run i got 10 gems. Theres nothing enticing me to want to play more and try to get to the other bosses, knowing there inst a unlock for it, just a gem and needing to re-do it more times to get unlocks feels pointless. You want hidden rooms? put in some gems, You want more chances at keys so you can unlock chest? invest more gems. You want a new character? gimmie dem gems. You want more relics/items? you know the drill, gems. So many things are put behind the same boring and repetitive mechanic. A really un creative game idea that i think has ruined a lot of this games potential.
