You are a Jedi. You are dope. You can have a double-sided lightsaber like Darth Maul did, but yours can be green or blue. But the combat is tough and rewarding. This game does a great job at making you feel like a Jedi-in-training, though you are far from invincible.

Each fight is maddening, but the music and the design and the overall aesthetic keep you going like nothing else. It's incredible

TL;DR: I love this game and I highly recommend it, but I am disappointed by today's announcement breaking Overkill's promise and possibly ruining what is currently a great game with more content.

I love this game, but I am really disappointed that paid DLC is coming back into the picture. The story has already ended, and the game has been in such a state for about a year now. I am all for new Payday content and I get that Overkill needs more money after their previous few games, but why not just start a new Payday game? I feel that Overkill is just disappointing their fanbase with this decision, breaking yet another promise (which they even acknowledged). Plus, after giving out numerous copies of the game for free when the Ultimate Edition (now retitled Legacy Edition) first launched, I feel that Overkill won't make nearly as much money with this as they would from a new Payday game altogether.

This game is addictive. Like scarily addictive.

UPDATE: After revisiting this game after a several year hiatus, I still find the game incredibly disappointing. The cutscenes are so abrupt that the game feels interrupted by them, much more so than in previous titles. Many of the textures are blurry and look 2-dimensional even when running on the highest settings. The quest system is confusing and nonintuitive. If you want an enjoyable game from this series that offers a better experience in all areas, stick to Just Cause 3.

Initial review:
I can tell I'd have fun screwing around with the mechanics of this game and all it has to offer, but the graphics truly are unacceptable and ruin the experience. I'm not trying to be nitpicky, but when compared to the past two games in the series, the graphics are such a huge step down (both in the cutscenes and in the rest of the game) that I'd even compare it to an early-gen PS3 or even a late-gen PS2 game.

I love this series and I really want to love this game, but the graphics hinder the experience and make the game all but unenjoyable.

Time to make a new GOTY!!

I love this game, and I'd love it even more if I didn't suck at it...

This is an amazing 10-minute short film that manages to capture the same thrill as the game. I did think it was a little weird when the second dude in the fursuit started reciting the USSR national anthem while doing backflips, but it didn't really take away from the thrill of this short film.

This game is so underrated. Late nights trying to complete a level with three people and without any deaths from anyone never felt so good.
