Gameplay is quite different than FP1 but by no means is it worse. Apart from buggy interactions with AMD instant replay feature (*see end of this post) I really don't have any major negative things to say. You have to get used to the FP1->FP2 mechanics switch but when you do, you realize some of the inconveniences you don't have to care about. One major difference is that deaths become more or less part of the game. Sometimes your people die because of some feature you decided to introduce to your city. Your people become a resource you can manage. You weren't really able to do this in FP1 as you had very limited people at your hands and even a single death could cripple your production and spiral into more deaths. Now you can just exchange 100 people for some materials and it will be worth it. New law/research systems are good and they introduce more depth than they had in FP1.
All in all very good game. Major gameplay changes weren't in bad direction and they either changed or upgraded old systems.
*If you have AMD GPU and are experiencing FPS drops/flickering turn instatnt replay off or try updating gpu drivers (version 24.8.1 or less have this issue)

If you have enjoyed Frostpunk and games like that, you will imo enjoy this. It has a nice mechanics with your moving island, constant hunt for resources to make progress and keeping everything functioning in the process.

Bs game just do not buy it, indie home made worthless crap honestly.

Buy, play it, and then buy Divinity 2.
