Hazelight Studios' best work by far

From the beginning to the end, this whole game was such a treat to experience.

With great puzzles and action sequences, beautiful graphics, and a story that made me care about the characters, Split Fiction is a must-play for any co-op enthusiasts. Truly an incredibly fun game!

Early Access Review
A nice, relaxing game. Better to play it with friends. It certainly has its frustrating parts, like trying to interact with one thing and accidentally opening the friend social menu 5 times in a row; or hitboxes being too big on certain things. But it can still be loads of fun.

Completing this game made me ascend to a higher form of existence. Nothing can anger me anymore.

I'm so ♥♥♥♥♥♥ tired of fighting Revenants. Easily the most annoying enemy type ever created.

Other than that, the game is amazing. Great story and direction, great acting, great soundtrack.

A bit repetitive in certain aspects, but still a pretty good game.

The story is quite simple, though that's not to discredit it in any way. I think it's well-written and it certainly captivated me. I also enjoyed exploring the world and finding bits of lore scattered across, gaining more of an insight into what was actually happening.

The visuals are great. From the stunning world, to the boss fights and even the movement of the Hunter, it all looks really nice. Great choice of art style too.

The soundtrack is fantastic. It quickly became one of my favourite video game soundtracks.

The gameplay is good, but kind of repetitive. Basically, you arrive in a new area, you get a very quick introduction of the boss you'll have to fight, then you run around solving some puzzles and collecting lightstones which will let you initiate the fight. Now, despite the repetitiveness, I still very much enjoyed the boss fights - I think they're great.

The puzzles are nice and fairly simple, but even they end up becoming a bit samey after some time. Maybe you won't feel this as much if you only do the bare minimum that's necessary for progressing the story, but if you decide to go the "completionist route" be prepared to do a lot of the same things.

Cute, little game with very simple puzzles and easy-to-get collectibles. It has good level design and very pleasant music. Also, the mouse is very cute.

You have a dedicated button for squeaking, which is always a nice addition. I believe I clicked it about 577 times.

It's definitely aimed at a younger audience, but it can be enjoyed by everyone.

This randomly showed up in my discovery queue. I thought "Eh, why not?", so I got it. And I'm glad I did. Really enjoyable, catchy music paired with cute art.

I managed to find all hares in about 13 minutes.

Stray is a really good game.

It's short and to the point. It has an interesting story, set in a wonderfully-built world, and obviously you get to play as a cat. And cats are pretty cute. You can meow at everyone and everything, you can knock things off shelves and stuff, and you can jump up, down and around almost everything.

And I feel the need to emphasise: this is not a game about cats, it's not a "cat simulator" like some people might think. It's a game where you simply happen to play as a cat in a somewhat strange but cool futuristic setting, in which you will learn very early on that all humans are dead and the only things left by them are the robots they created. The "how?" and "why?" I will leave to you to discover.

Give it a try! You won't regret it.

At first I was in the middle about this one, but after thinking about it more, my impression of it is mostly negative, hence the downvote.

I don't think it's worth the full price. Luckily I got it extremely cheap thanks to a discount coupon.
  • The controls are a bit clunky and the character feels very "floaty", which led to me falling off things a lot more than I should have.
  • The combat is there just to be there.
  • The dialogue and the voice acting are... kinda bad and cringey.
  • Level design is okay, except for the fact that some obstacles like the spikes and lasers have much bigger hitboxes than they should. There were plenty of times when the player model wasn't even close to touching these obstacles and I still took damage.
  • The puzzles are very simple and the only time I found them somewhat interesting was on levels 4 and 5, which are the last "proper" levels before the final boss fight.
I really didn't have high expectations for this, but I still feel somewhat disappointed, mainly by the controls and the extremely poor hitboxes.

First of all, I have to praise the sound design, and especially the music - it's absolutely beautiful. The visuals are great as well, really making the art style shine.

The level of emotion Omno manages to convey is what made it truly special for me, because it achieves this without any dialogue. The ending scene in particular, in my opinion, was very powerful.

I'll put a Spoiler Warning here, as I will write about the story, for anyone who would like to read.

Omno is a sweet and emotional story about a Staffbearer who, like many Staffbearers before him, goes on a pilgrimage in search of something better, a different world that can only be reached through the Gate of Light.

On his journey, he visits many places, each one more awe-inspiring than the other, he gains abilities that help him traverse on land and in the air, and he interacts with many of the animals living in these places. But one cute, little creature in particular decides to follow him everywhere he goes, and eventually they become friends.

At one point, after seeing how beautiful the world is, he begins to wonder why this world should be abandoned; why would everyone want to reach this Gate of Light, this other world, when there is still so much left to discover here? But despite those feelings, he moves forward.

In the end, stood in front of the Gate of Light, the little creature that has accompanied him refuses to go through. Both of them are overcome with sadness that they must part ways. And as the Staffbearer takes a step forward, looking upon the Gate, he has second thoughts on abandoning this friendship and this wonderful world. He turns around, and to the little creature's surprise, he decides to stay.
