My friends and I have been searching for an alternative to Roll20 to play D&D in an online environment for a while now, and so far this is the only one that has come up in conversation time and time again. With one of them moving to Florida within the next 12 to 24 hours, this is what we decided on. It will still be some time before we can organize our first session with the simulator, but I am genuinely looking forward to it, since if it works out well we will be able to include others from around the world that wish to participate in our D&D games.

Two of the guys are already on Steam, and were planning to get the sim, so lo and behold, here I am as well. Joined steam specifically to get this simulator so we could play D&D, but when I was watching the videos on the product page I saw so many other options that we could use this for, including one of my all-time favorite board games; Chess.

Taking into account the extensive versatility of the program, and the sheer number of positive reviews that I've heard for this 'game' elsewhere, were enough to convince me that it was worth investing in, and with those options, even if it turns out that we are unable to use it to run our D&D campaigns and adventures online, I'd still recommend it for its number of other features.

Now... back to work on preparing for my next session.
