pros:
unlimited possibilities in how you build your vehicle.
nice graphics.
short and sweet PVP matches, easy to squeeze them in on short breaks.
awesome to play with friends, and has in game parts to encourage such with fusion builds.
in game market ensure availability of parts so you won't have to build everything from the bottom get stuck grinding for that last white tier cabin for the next item you want to craft. (after a rework of early game, all neccecary white parts can now be crafted specifically, and earning of white parts from missions was replaced with an increase in scrap earnings)

cons:
VERY long grind if you don't want to spend a dime on coins or packs.
hitting engineers lvl 30 you often end up with seal clubbers at lower powerscores sporting legendary or relic weapons.
can be very frustrating in PVP due to near zero teamwork (seriously, bring your friends if you can).

conclusion:
would recommend for those that can stand having to to grind a lot. helps if you got some money to spare on packs and coins. game is far more enjoyable with friends by your side but can be played solo if you are patient enough with the playerbase. watch some youtube videos to help learn how to progress effectively in the game and how to use the market better than just quick buying everything

i went into this game with absolutely zero fighting game experience, and despite that i had a ton of fun with this game. short version, easy to learn, hard to truly master

the long version: i had not heard much of anything about this game when it came out, but i'm glad i found it. my first ever play session i was like a new student showing up to a massive school with a lot to learn. i had to learn to not button mash, to time my attacks for the right moments, and learn the cues of different attacks. it was something that i actually enjoyed, i felt that with each fight i was learning something, and so did my character as they learned new moves to use for my combat deck.

speaking of the combat deck, this is probably what is the biggest draw of the game for me. the freedom in making your own comboes and styles. you are not locked into certain sets of attack because of your choice of character, you can put whatever move you want almost wherever you want in your combo, a freedom i have enjoyed very much, switching between super fast attacks to stagger my opponent constantly, or make more of a slugger deck with hard hitting attacks that can power through most enemies (though not so much against players).

i love the world, seeing it all broken and almost every corner speaking small parts of the story that hides behind the veil. in a way the lore of the game isn't so much in your face that it gets in the way if you don't care about it, being hidden in the environment and the item descriptions. coupled with the quiet ambiance out of combat i often find myself in a zen like state.

despite the combat deck maybe being confusing to some people, and the balance of different moves changing quite a bit, i would still recommend this game in a heartbeat. it is not for everyone, but it will certainly be an experience, perhaps even a long journey towards mastery. either alone, or with your friends

Frostpunk is a game that i instantly fell in love with the moment i saw it. it checks the boxes of steampunk, a form of moral choices through the laws and events, and the population that could any second be hanging by a thread. to top it off, the soundtrack is amazing, and really conveys that you are battling something much bigger than your little fledgeling city. mother nature herself, who appears to be a real female dog at times towards your citizens and their health.

my first run in the game so far, without spoilers, went pretty much like this. i thought i was on top of every situation that came up, held every promise i made, and saved as many as i could...not realizing that suddenly, the true test was around the corner. i was struggling hard to keep my citizens alive, and sometimes i even had to harm them to then keep them alive a bit more

the game is very engaging, you feel the responsibility of all the people you care for through small events, of people either refusing to work due to conditions, or one very touching one that was a patient leaving a note of thanks for me

the game itself, just like the cities we build, are in the fledgeling state, but it will grow bigger, and no doubt become very strong. if the current state of the game is really damm good, then imagine once it becomes amazing or mind blowing

a challanging, yet amazing game

going into it, my only real experience with survival games had been with minecraft and project zomboid where the challange of sustaining your character was mostly a background thing usually eclipsed by some kind of monster you gotta fend off. it did not prepare for how harsh this game was when i first played it, as even on the easiet difficulty i was getting close to dying within the first week, though this was partly due to lack of experience.

in this game, keeping yourself alive is a full time job essentially, unlike some other titles in the survival genre, managing energy, hunting for food, having to spend a lot of in-game time boiling water, and making sure your character stays warm. although i have not played on the higher difficulties, stalker and interloper, i can imagine it being the dark souls of survival games if my experience is anything to go by.

all in all, this is a survival game for those that want a focus on survival from both the elements, and your own needs within the game. if you just want a more atmospheric experience, this game can give you that too on the lowest difficulty. i myself felt relaxed and inspired when walking through the ravine in-game, looking out over the landscape and think about just how much i had to do to even be there

i look forward to more content with anticipation
