Although still in the early stages, Abiotic Factor looks very promising.

As of writing this, I've experienced very few bugs and only minor performance hiccups.
This game has a number of interesting concepts and designs that have been excellently done - I've omitted what they are, as they are spoilers to the story or overall progression.

It is exceptionally easy to get lost in the intricately detailed and labyrinthine underground research facility.
A lot of work and thoughtful ideation has come together to make the world of Abiotic Factor flourish; From the character design, set pieces, and down to the comically over-the-top science humour.

Although you can play singleplayer, I would highly recommend having at least one friend to play with.
My only real criticism is the server browser and the difficulty navigating it to connect with friends - though it appears it's being addressed.

If you're looking for an interesting co-op game, choose Abiotic Factor. I would happily buy this game at full price again.

Scorn is a great piece of art, but it isn't for everyone.

There are ever present motifs of death, decay, and suffering proliferated throughout all aspects of this game; It is unsettling, alien, and deeply disturbing - yet curiosity wishes for more.

Scorn for the most part is an exhibition of set pieces and concepts - if you enjoy walking through meticulously dressed levels and completing alien puzzles, then this game is probably for you.

If you're expecting an action shooter and have a short attention span or patience, then Scorn probably isn't going to tick all your boxes. There's a lot of things that aren't explained, lot's of backtracking, and potentially frustrating elements for most people.

Overall I would recommend Scorn solely on the basis of its art style - but understand what Scorn is before you buy it, and that will save you from both disappointment and wasting your money.

In all unlikely circumstances, the Helldivers 2 team managed to turn it around.

Many of the gripes and issues that I had with the game have been largely resolved, addressed, or are actively being worked on. The lightning in the bottle is alive and well. There is currently no other game quite like it, and for that you should give it a go.

This is one of the very few live-service games that I actively endorse.

BioShock Infinite is without a doubt a beautiful game.

However, you MUST download the 2K Launcher / Gamestore to play the game; yet no where on the Steam page does it say that. It is unnecessary bloat that no one asked for, let alone willingly uses. I cannot think of a single example whereby a secondary Launcher / Gamestore has brought any sort of benefit to the consumer - it has always been abysmal, e.g. Origin, Uplay, BattleNet, etc. 2K Launcher / Gamestore is the exact same.

For this alone, I recommend against buying this game.

An excellent free game and a potential spiritual successor to the Midnight Club series.

Firewatch is a gorgeous game.

There are a few rough edges and it is a short game, but it is good nonetheless.
The voice acting is nothing short of phenomenal. Take your time with it and don't rush to the end.

Easily recommend Firewatch if you're looking for a succinct and endearing story.

I wish there was an option to give an informational review instead of a flat yes or no.

BattleBit Remastered is a fun game, but you'll find a lot of resentment from the community due to the balancing of playstyles.
On launch the game felt like the classic Battlefield experience and it played well (with a few exceptions). Post-launch, a number of balance passes have made it across, including audio, attachment, and overall mechanic changes. While some are good, others have largely homogenised playstyles away from the asymmetric Battlefield experience and closer to what some would call a "Call of Duty Lobby".

It's not easy to balance a game and it really shows here, where a culmination of small changes have pushed the core demographic away from the game. With that being said, it's never okay to harass developers.

I like the progression system whereby you use the items you like to gain skins and attachments. The customisation is fantastic across both character and equipment. On the contrary I don't like the FOMO tactics being deployed with Twitch drops and Creator skins - It sucks that you can't earn these skins via playing the game.

I like how the guns and equipment feel, with a few caveats. A number of player-run Official Oceanic servers have equipment restrictions which further homogenise the playstyles and experience of BattleBit. A lot of the balancing is often too heavy-handed and not holistic. However maps and gamemodes are as diverse as the selection of the equipment, some obviously need a bit of love but many others are so much fun to play through.

The other unfortunate aspect is the moderation of the game. There are a number of individuals that continually flaunt the rules, get a 24 hour "slap-on-the-wrist" ban and then are back to their antics - whether it be blatantly cheating, harassing others, or outright recruiting people for extremist criminal organisations. The moderation team needs to do better, especially given the TOS that you sign at the start of every session.

Although I've voiced many grievances I still think BattleBit Remastered is worth picking up on sale and playing with friends, but be aware of the current trend of updates and the history of developers receiving feedback from the playerbase.

Quake Champions is overshadowed by a distinct lack of forethought and self reflection - something that is currently plaguing many Bethesda titles.

I really enjoy the graphics, gameplay, and the customisation options but there's many glaring problems. The load times are abysmal across all types of storage; I've used SATA HDD, SDD and NVMe SSD, they all load so slowly. I feel like I spend more time waiting in a menu than I do playing the actual game. There's no server browser and the server functions are highly obscured - matchmaking may as well not exist.

Quake Champions was once a pay-to-play game during its turbulent launch, and now it's free-to-play to aid the declining player-base. An in-game store was added, and few games can do it well, but not Quake Champions.

Prices are extremely bloated, extensive use of FOMO tactics, cosmetics that would otherwise be unlocked through gameplay are locked behind paywalls, and the inclusion of loot boxes really deter the player.

Quake Champions has the potential to be a good game like its predecessors, but potential doesn't make a game good, and Quake Champions is not a good game.

Very rough around the edges, but Lethal Company is great with company
