Genuinely been enjoying this game! I'm glad I didn't listen to the negative reviews, they felt 'off' anyway.

That being said, this game has its problems, it's not perfect. For its price I would expect to not have these issues. SOME of these issues can absolutely be fixed if Capcom gives the time of day. Others, not so much.
Microtransactions are an absolute non-issue since you can get those items in-game anyway so I'm not even gonna bother commenting on that.

some of the CONS I personally feel it has are:
- Poor optimisation. I have a decent setup (not top of the line, but pretty good) and never had a problem with with a game on high settings. This is the first one where I've had to turn down a lot of stuff just so it runs at a somewhat smooth pace but as a result it looks... kinda ugly!! I'm of the opinion that games shouldn't be designed to look nice only on the most new and expensive hardware. This game absolutely EATS my CPU.
- Lack of quality of life improvements from the first game.
- Lack of diverse enemies. Practically no different from dd1, which is disappointing.
- Still only one save file. And because of Denuvo, it's risky to use the save editor mod since you run the risk of getting the hammer. It's been 12 years, ONE more save slot at the very least would be nice!
- There's currently some bugs atm, but I'm sure they'll be fixed in future patches.

some of the PROS I personally feel it has are:
- Faithful adaptation. While it obviously isn't the same story-line, this game definitely feels like a proper continuation of the Dragons Dogma universe. I'm nowhere near finished the game, but the plot is very engaging to me! Dragons Dogma always felt like a game that you either love or hate. I feel it's not very appealing to people who might lack imagination and the ability to get really invested in things that aren't quite linear and overly fleshed out already.
- fun battles. while it's true some classes from the first game are gone, the ones we have now are still quite fun to use. and despite having pretty repetitive enemies, it's always fun to kick their ass.
- The world as a whole feels more alive than the previous game.
- Pawns! My pawn is my right hand arm..man. My pawn is...everything. He's my confidant. My best friend. My silly rabbit. In all seriousness pawns in this game feel less lifeless and annoying like the first one, I love hearing their banter and comments this time. Not to mention my pawn has caught me romantically in his arms every time I've fallen, so that's a bonus.
- Chaos. Sometimes things just happen that take me completely off guard in the best way. A relaxing walk through the forest? No. dive-bombed by a Griffin. Looking for a way to get that treasure chest? Surprise! Minotaur be upon ye.
- Diversity win! Men can now wear skimpy thigh-high boots and panties!

I may update this review as I progress through the story more, but for now:
all in all. I probably wouldn't recommend buying this game YET. especially if the price will put you out. Wait until they patch and fix things. If you don't mind spending the money, then go for it.
I can only recommend trying it for yourself if you're willing; and seeing if it's a game for you.
In my opinion, its a great game that's so fun to play, but unfortunately had a rough launch.

Early Access Review
I haven't had this much fun in a game sine dragon age.
The battle system feels a little janky at times, but overall it's been great!
