Early Access Review
Loved the original BG1&2, and I adore Divinity 2: Original Sin. This feels like a great start to a game. It's very similar to Divinity with some rule changes and class& spell changes towards DnD. It's only the start of Early Access I feel some people we're expecting a fully polished experience. Obviously it's not. Don't buy this if you're not expecting to run into bugs, only buy it if you know what you're getting into.

I'm quite far into the first Act I believe, I've explored most of the map. I've enjoyed my time quite much. I've had one quest bug out and a couple of quest markers are still there after the quest was completed. It's things I'd expect.
I've also had a few fps drops at places, especially at a certain island with a tree, which is surrounded by running water.
Overall, I'd say it has run quite well, I did crash twice, but being the manic quicksaver I am, I didn't lose any progress.
Classes and skills, what we already know and have access to, seem good, everything seems to work and they're decently balanced, lots of crowd control skills on the mage types. One thing I never liked about Divinity 2 was the magic shield/armor split it did. Making enemies immune until you burn out either one. This isn't present in BG3.

Dialogue seems to be working, some animations have been a little buggy, I've had the same companion story dialogue repeat twice now with the exact same options, it doesn't seem to be flagging as progressed properly. These are things Early Access is for so I don't mind. I'm confident everything will be fixed before release.

In conclusion. I feel like this is a great start to what might become one of the best rpgs I've played and the co-op possibility will make it even more fun, though chaotic. I'm enjoying the start of the story, I've always thought mindflayers interesting and I'm confident it will continue to build up. A couple of your companions are a bit too angsty at the beginning, though I assume once the story progresses and they start trusting you they aren't half as bad. I do hope you could customize your companions a bit more to make the party you want while still enjoying the storylines. This might be coming though, a lot of features still missing in Early Access.

Buy it if you want to support and help develop a bug-free balanced experience and try out what it feels like. Wait for the finished product and reviews that follow if you're unsure if this is for you. Never buy anything blind fellas ;) The full price is quite a lot to throw in at this point and I would only do it if you trust in Larian Studios. Personally I have not been disappointed. If you loved Divinity 2 this is something you will probably enjoy. It's up to you.

Came in expecting a Souls-like, but found so much more. Love everything about this game.

Definitely one of my favorite survival games, now with co-op! Harvest berries together. Get eaten by spiders together. Freeze to death together! Everything is fun with friends. (Now with extra getting smashed by giant monsters)

The game is also quite moddable and there's a lot of great mods out there. :)

Ps. The game has a learning curve so don't get discouraged if you die early a few times before getting the hang of it. That's what these games are all about after all.
