If you're a fan of classical JRPGs, or have fond memories of Suikoden 1/2 then you'll likely enjoy Eiyuden Chronicles. While the game doesn't make any ground breaking changes from it's classical formula, it is a lovely return to a tried and true style with it's unique twist of a massive cast.

As others have said, the localization is a bit off putting at times, with characters not responding how you'd expect, and a fair bit of verbage being a bit.. Odd. But all in all if you're able to look past the oddity that is the localization at times, the game is still a good deal of fun.

As a longtime Warhammer 40K fan, I absolutely loved this game. I beat it around 70 hours, rather early in it's launch.
Was there content I missed due to bugs? Yes.
Was there broken aspects that I was unable to do because of bugs? Yes.
Did I still make it through the game, enjoy it, and start a second campaign? Yes.

I will admit, that the game didn't feel finished, but I don't regret my purchase and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of my bolter fueled, third eye'd, Vlka Fenryka journey.

(I will say though, screw the Word Bearers)

One of my favorite aspects of this game is that you can be outnumbered and out gunned, but as long as you know even a little bit of strategy you can win a battle. Combined with having to manage relations, cities and armies, it makes this game great.
