I recommend this game, because it differentiates itself from the hundreds of other creepy atmospheric game where a monster inevitably runs out at you and then it's just shooting or hide and seek. There are plenty of those games and some of them are pretty good. But I appreciate something different and this is what that is. I love the liminal touches, the empty sounds, the funky carpets, the muzak. It's all great, but here's the real reason I'm writing this review. I want to add my name to the chorus of anti-tickets people.
It's just so... videogamey... If I want to be rummaging through trash and under benches I'll go play a Bethesda game or Bioshock. The tickets are just antithetical to the rest of the game. Look at The Stanley Parable, What Remains of Edith Finch, The Beginner's Guide, or The Old City: Leviathan. All great "walking simulators" where there's nothing to collect, you just take it all in at your own time. Please remove the tickers and let your vision stand on its own. Let people appreciate it just for the art it is and not have to look around for pointless doodads that actively detract from the narrative and immersion.

I never write reviews, but Chromatic Games is just so scummy that here I am. I kickstarted this way back when for like 10$ and have only dabbled in it here and there so it's no loss to me, but they have so betrayed the games most ardent supporters. There's a lot of little annoying things to bring up, but the problem that I think sums it all up is the promise not to to wipe progress when the game hit full release and in the spirit of EA they held to the letter of their word, but not the spirit. Anyone who put in time on this game in early access has had their progress segregated into a separate pool, because of being over leveled in a noncompetitive game. If they hadn't promised this wouldn't be so bad, because its early access you take risks, but to make claims and not inform your players of your plans is just rotten. It's just arbitrarily cruel and Chromatic Games should be ashamed.
