It was fun for a little while, but then it just started feeling like a series of endless chores with no real feeling of management or success. In particular, having to constantly check inventory and order supplies and having to be present for any and all deliveries. The car wash part of it was just tedious and way too detail oriented for me.

I honestly wouldn't recommend it.

I wanted to like this game. I really did. Instead what I found was a tutorial that maybe covered a teeny tiny part of the game and pretty much left you to figure out everything else. I have no idea what I'm doing and there doesn't seem to be any in-game way to get some assistance, and the interface itself is confusing as all hell. I guess there's third-party Youtube tutorials but I really shouldn't have to resort to that to learn the bare basics of a game.

Maybe sometime down the line the developers cam make the UI a bit more intuitive, or at the least do more to help new players get aquainted to the basics. Until then, this is a no for me.

It's a good game but it's got a bit of a learning curve, and the tutorials don't seem to help for a lot of it. You may end up needing to get mod airlines to help because even if you have high ratings, for some reasons additional airlines don't come knocking.

Game really gives life to classic songs and songs you're bored of.

Way back in the days of the PowerPCs, I played a nice little game called Escape Velocity. It immediately became my favorite game and still remains one of the best I've ever played. I was so happy that EV Nova made it to PC later in my life.

Flash forward to today, and Ambrosia Software, EV's developer, is no more. This made me sad. But as I read through info about EV reminiscing, I learned about this game, Endless Sky. Apparently it was a spiritual successor to EV.

Well, I just had to get it, especially since it was free. I loaded it in and it immediately felt like I was back in EV once more.

Now, there's a whole generation that will likely never get to experience the glory that was Escape Velocity, so let me give you the skinny on this: It's a game where you trade goods, run missions, and if you think you're good enough, knock over a few pirates or take over a few planets. It's a nice 2D game but it's got lots for you to do, and a lot of mission running and things to keep you entertained, especially if you add mods and whatnot to it.

There are a few quirks I dislike though, for one starting out the game basically paying off a boatload of money to a bank for your ship. But if you keep doing missions you can pay it down pretty easily. The game also shows it's still in progress with some of its landscape photos. For one, Planet Reunion looks an awful lot like Los Angeles as viewed from the westside, lol.

But again, I'm really happy this game exists and that someone was thoughtful enough to make a modern EV. Me and my 12-year-old Inner child are incredibly grateful. And if you've never played Escape Velocity, play this game. If you liked Port Royale or Sid Meier's Pirates, you'll love this.

I want to like this game. I really do. Unfortunately, for something that supposedly is meant to run in the background, this game uses an absurd amount of resources, as if it were running a real game or something. It's a nice idea and I'd totally love to run it on the compy but until they fix this problem there's no way I can recommend it.

Absolutely unplayable.

The controls are absolutely wonky and there's no guide to change them or even to see them. I'm stuck in the first room with no idea how to open doors or anything, and the manual doesn't seem to help. Also, the graphics mess up on several occasions, even on a good PC. Save your money and get another game.

Early Access Review
OH HECK YES! I love me some destruction and explosions! Although I do wish we could change characters without dying, and that helicopter has become the bane of my existence.

Game does not work at all. You'd expect an older game such as this one to run like the wind on current PCs, but nope, this thing lags more than Congress does passing a law. The FPS for a game this age and a computer of my caliber is ridiculously slow, and there are times when the game is nonresponsive to clicks, such as the options menu not working properly.

That being said, it looks like a good game, but a good game is nothing if the game is designed badly, which is the case with this game. Do not buy it, even if it's on sale.
