First: the gameplay isolated is imo really good, driving, shooting and so on at least feel realistic and the diffrences between the tanks are easily identifiable, no two tanks feel the same.
The problem is that as of right now you can do little with that gameplay and what you can do is ruined by the horrible AI and bad map placement of enemies and yourself by the game. Approaching an objective in your own way is either impossible because of waypoints you have to reach or it completely breaks the mission (I went around the enemies in one mission and hit the trigger for the mission end, while I haven´t destroyed a single target yet). In other missions you are spawned on an open field with enemies on the ridgeline in front of you.
As for the AI: the movement AI is bad and will get your allies killed most of the time. Your best option is to park them at your spawn and leave them there. On the other hand, the aiming AI is through the roof. It seems to ignore smoke and dust (except smoke screens), as well as foliage, shoots at you as soon as your antennas are visible above the hill, but at the same time seem to have no memory and will turn passive as soon as they don´t see you anymore.

All this means that gameplay is frustrating at best and extremely annoying at worst. And definetly not worth 30$

First of all: even though I don´t recommend the game, if you pick it up during a sale it is definetly worth it for a few hours of fun (rn I have over 300h in this game).
The game concept is easy to learn, if you want to simplify it, it´s Minecraft in space with physics. You have a survivial and a creative mode, in survivial you build better ships to improve your resource gaining efficiency, in creative... The sky is the limit. In survivial I hit a wall quite quickly, meaning that after a few hours I´m basically done with the "progression" and the only thing left to do is to build more and bigger ships for no real reason and the farming/building takes too long for the result.
So let´s hop into the creative mode. You can build great ships, as long as they don´t get too complicated. First of all, weapons: You only have three weapons in the game: Assault rifle, Gatling gun and rocket launcher (in different variations, some are in turrets, some are fixed). This amount is quite.... low for a game that evolves around building spaceships and (at least partially) fight pirates and other players. The solution for that is basically building a railgun with gravity generators and artificial mass, which only works if you install a mod to delete the speed limit and even then it´s quite buggy. Next thing is subgrids: In ships you have moving parts: doors, hatches, maybe you want to fold parts of your ship (like in an F14 Tomcat). Good luck with that, because the physics engine will completely f*ck it up. Having two parts that fit nicely is impossible, you always need at least half a block of space two avoid the moving parts of colliding and bugging out (otherwise it´s like 3,1m block through a 3m hole, even though it should fit). You can only have one connection point to each subgrid, meaning it will be extremely wobbly. Want to fix that with merge block (a block that connect 2 grids)? You can watch your ship fly away at 1000m/s (no joke). Even without subgrids the physics can be pretty random and due to that I have lost quite a number of ships in survivial and creative. Next thing I want to mention are displays. Until a few patches ago, they were basically useless and (vanilla) could only display a simple text. If you wanted something else, you had to use scripts made by the community. I heard that you now can display basic stuff like time and speed, but for other things you stil need to use scripts. And at last the technical side: The game doesn´t run well. On a 5700XT it is hard to reach 60fps on 1080p and max settings. If you want to play with a friend, prepare for synch issues, connection issues and sometimes not being able to play at all.
All these problems aren´t from yesterday, they have been in the game since I first started playing like 3 or 4 years ago. I had a pause of about one year and in this year, nothing much has changed, exept that 4 new (cosmetic) dlcs have been released. When my friends and I, we all get frustrated quite quickly while playing this game. Stuff like a simple telescope (a camera with two rotors and a gyroscope) are impossible to build and destroy themselves within seconds. This is no fun after a while. And while those huge issues aren´t fixed, I don´t see a reason to play this game, but since they haven´t been fixed in the last years, I don´t see them fixed anytime soon.

The game itself is very good. That´s why it´s pretty sad to give a negative review, but I can´t recommend to buy the game.
To quickly sum up the graphics: it´s good, the game looks pretty nice, but not overwhelming. The unit models are partly very good, partly not at all (GB tanks).
The basic gameplay is quite easy to understand. The problem is that there is no way to learn the game. When you try to get into a public game, you will face nearly only players who are rank 20 and above (200h+ multiplayer). And they completely destroy you, while you are sitting in front of your screen and have no idea what´s happening. You just look as your entire army disappears.
If you want to fight against AI you can do that too. The problem is that it exploits the fact that it is an AI as often as it can. From remembering everything, seeing everything, knowing the exact distances so that you can´t shoot it, the AI just spams as many units as they can, attack you in so many places that you just can´t keep up as a player. On top of that the AI cheats with the points they start with (confirmed) and the points they get (I have read it, but no proof), something that imo happens way too often in strategy games.
It´s fun when you are playing with your friends. Maybe try out the game on a sale when a lot of new players are trying it out. Otherwise, better not buy it

I got this game during a free weekend and decided to try it out. And while it is free there is no reason not to pick it up. The idea behind the game is quite simple:
-You colonize planets
-You build bases on them
-You attack enemy bases/defend your own one
-You do all that with remote controlled robots

It is a fun idea and if it would work easily it definetly would be a very good game... but it doesn´t:

The controls are extremely hard to use. Walking is easy? You didn´t try this game. A little pixel of dirt can hinder your movement completely. And getting that pixel away is harder than it should be. On top of that all the controls are linked with your mouse coursor, aming, fliying, mining. But you don´t have a crosshair, so it´s a guessing game.
Then the game itself doesn´t tell you how to do a lot of things. Base building is a big part of the game, but nobody tells you how to do it and the menus are not what you´d call intuitive. And the tutorial that you have is only about the basic robot movement. Something like: "move with WASD".
What ended the game for me was the AI. Winning and losing depends on one unit that has to be killed (like in games like Planetary Annihalition or Supreme Commander). When an enemy attacked me, I killed all of his units and destroyed his base (which he built while attacking btw). Then the enemy "commander" just walked into a hole in the ground and put stone cubes in the way... A lot of them... And after I finally got to him with one of my "minions", he killed me because I couldn´t get away/in cover (because of the movement) and couldn´t fire back because the hole he was shooting through
was too small to fire back. Then I sent another minion after him and after he arrived, he already placed more stone cubes in my way (when you dig around them each "layer" takes about 30-60 seconds, he made around 10 of them while I was chasing him with minion 1). And after I saw that I just quit the game.

Like I said before, the idea is nice, but the gameplay is not
