First things first, bugs and optimization:
I have encountered bugs such as AI struggling to act as they are supposed to (aka follow the player for quests and such) as well as getting stuck in a few railroaded sequences. This has had me reload a few time but not too many that I find it a huge bother. The frames are extremely unstable (I cannot keep i in stable 60), my gear should allow me to play on ultra graphics. These are all and all my biggest complaints about the game but there are minor things in the following sections as well.

Story, characters and the world:
I find multiple characters quite interesting, including Keanu Reeves and yourself. What I partly lack is a greater understanding of the game's world, it's background as well as the background of multiple important chracters including the main villain. A lot of background can admittedly be gotten from chips with lore but I rarely have the patience to read a lot of them, especially since there are so many of the and I feel like it really interupts the gameplay if that is to be seen as a necessity to understand the lore of the game. I hope and believe that more of this will be fleshed out before the game is over, I have done little more but finish act 1 (albeit idk how many acts there are but I am guessing 3). The writing is overall good and I feel immeresed in most of them.

Gameplay:
Not many complaints here, I find the "breeching" and hacking in general to be very enjoyable. I invest the majority of my perks into intelligence and tech for this first character. The gunplay is good although I was confused that aim assist was enabled as I started the game even though I play with mouse and keyboard. Driving is a bit meh due to the first car handling like ♥♥♥♥ but I already feel like it improved as I got a motorbike.

Night City:
A huge map where no district feels quite the same. The map and the environments would be a wonderful experience, less we forget the framerate problems. The art is tremendous and it feels very much alive, it really makes you feel like you are in a cyberpunk world as the title of the game promises. The style of the buildings and the fashion of the NPCs that fill the lively streets really hits it home.

Character creation:
I personally prefer sliders in my character creation screens but that is not at all a big problem since most sections had so many different presets. At least it makes things go quicker. A lot of the presets are really funny and wack so overall I think it was thoroughly enjoyable and I am ahppy with my result. Also 10/10 GOTY for the genital customization.

Conclusion:
A not only good game, but a great game. It has problems that I believe can be fixed, except the biggest of them, the overhype. If you expect a game to be perfect then you will, of course, be disappointed. A lot of the details of the game remain to be discovered for me. It is just a bit sad that a lot of experiences, not just my own, get soured by bugs and not optimal optimization. I would not at this moment call the game a diamond in the rough, that would not be fair since I think it is beyond that at this point. More like, you need to polish that diamond a bit more which I believe CD Project Red logically should be good at. I will thus recommend this game since I spent all of launch day playing the game desptite it's faults, even though I should be studying and the risk is that I will do it again. I am procrastinating these very studies at this very moment of writing this review and that to me say at least something about the quality of a game.

I will update this review once I have finished the main story and done the most interesting side stories.

I read an article today about someone who used a slow motion mod to beat the final boss. Sure, you can argue that it was his loss, but tbh was it just so weird to me. I can understand using cheesy tactics against specific bosses that are really difficult, it is a souls-like after all, but to use an tool to slow the game down?
This game has given me plenty of happy memories and lots of angry ones as well. Even though it was a long time a ago now that I completed the game 100% am I still extremley fond of this game. It is a strong recommend and nothing quite beats the feeling of, by your own skill, defeating an enemy, maybe not even letting a boss land a single hit, it is something to be experienced.
