If you are used to games that work, DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. This is worse than Arma 2. Horrific net code, horrific vehicle mechanics. You would think in a "realistic combat war game" every tree or bush or rock you hit at 10km wouldn't cause your arteries to explode, causing you to die from blood loss.

This dev team is not making any strides forward when it comes to game stability, good mechanics, or even a decent user interface.
Items bounce all around in your inventory when dropping or picking items up, vehicles have horrific mechanics, and cross-platform has caused the player base quality to decrease significantly (but it's good for the devs' pockets).

The ONLY reason to play this game or continue to play it, is, because it is the only game that has over 100 players in a server, on large-scale maps, that is not completely casual like Battlefield and other shooter games.

Save your money and wait for Bellum or maybe another dev team worth anything will pick up the genre and push this company out of existence.

3/10 - player base doesn't care about playing tactical and the devs have done nothing to help.

I'm changing my review from would recommend to would not recommend. 1500+ hours played.

Simply. Nearly 100% of the game play is in the players hands. Anyone can see what might go wrong (OFTEN) when 80+ strangers get together and ALL have different levels of skill, tactical know how and experience. Then have 40 of them just "work together".

There are no game mechanics that incentivise teamwork or tactics. A competent player can just go solo and have more fun than working with a less proficient player. It's just up to you and the other players. Half of which don't know how to play the game, the ones that do know the mechanics might attempt squad leading, but don't know things like; flanking, recon, marking the map, working together, spreading troops out or putting them in good positions.

It will take about 5 - 20 min to get into a game, longer if you are trying to join with your friends. Once in, it's a coin flip as to who will be on the team that is getting decimated. Either because the SL's aren't communicating, un-skilled players have destroyed or left most vehicles, super fobs that are easily nukes, and the list goes on.

Also you won’t see "big" streamers playing this game because the devs and or the community have not set up long lasting white listed servers for streamers. Communication is key in this game and the last thing Shroud or Summit need is a troll breaking TOS on comms.....

Unfortunately there are no good open world sandbox tactical shooters right now, this game had a good run but without the dev's stepping in and adding mechanics to this game that insensitive more team cooperation and try hard behavior this game will never grow in size.

avg 5k players since 2019, its picking up now but I doubt it will stay above 10k for more than 6 months straight.

This game is worth the money if you REALLY like large, sandbox, tactical FPS but just know, some 20 hour SL is going to ask you to run across an open field to defend a fob that no longer matters in winning the game only for you to be mortared, sniped or just sitting there with nothing happening. Or you could go run off and do your own thing (which everyone else is doing) which takes out the whole "tactical" part of the game.

I was just really bored, saw my initial review and was like "now there is an injustice I not only created but can fix".

3/10 - player base doesn't care about playing tactical and the devs have done nothing to help.
