Having played some of EDF 2025 on PS3, I can safely say that if you want to play any game in this series, get this, it is pure fun in video game form. Compared to the sub 20 FPS and long load times on PS3, this game loads fast and runs at 60 FPS, and compared to other niche Japanese game PC ports, this is actually pretty competent thanks to having more features besides just changing resolutions.

Getting on to the game, it is one CRAZY, arcadey shooter with sort of RPG elements involving you against giant bugs from outer space. With destructable environments and waves after waves of enemies on screen at a time, it leaves you outnumbered but never outgunned, thanks to a 4 playable characters and lots of weapons at your disposal. The way to upgrade your character is a bit odd though, you need to get HP upgrades/additional weapons though walking over them from defeated enemies, but in order to get better weapons you need to play on higher difficulties. You likely wont be able to get the better weapons on your first time though because the higher difficulties are hard to play through, even the first level, without having good enough weapons and enough health pick ups. Weird choice aside, I still cannot recommend this game enough. If you feel a bit jaded, feeling like all modern games are ♥♥♥♥ now, play EDF.

Despite it's art style which can turn as much people off as much as it does turn on, I honestly had fun with it. What you basically got here is a basically a Dynasty Warriors style game mixed with Dead or Alive-tier girls, it's a basic button masher where you fight through loads of enemies and occasionally clothes get ripped off. It's goofy, it's very Japanese, and it plays good, especially with a controller, and though the PC port is barebones as far as customization options go (some anti aliasing would be nice) it runs pretty well.

If I had to find some complaints with the game, despite the large roster of playable characters the game can get repetitive because you're mainly fighting in the same environments against the same characters over and over again. Though there are 4 story modes the plot isn't that interesting compared with it's sequel Deep Crimson on 3DS and you'll forget about it eventually. And the transformation/clothes ripping scenes get annoying when you do side stories as they cause the dialogue to repeat again and again.

But in spite of those faults, I'd recommend the game, provided you like beat em ups and can look past the artstyle, as there's a ton of content, and because it's a port of a handheld game, you can easily pick it up and play it whenever you want due to the fast missions. If you're still on the fence, I'd recommend picking it up for $20.

With a great balance of old point and click conventions and elements from the newer Telltale games, an engaging story with the most bizarre yet lovable set of characters you will ever encounter, a fantastic soundtrack that ranges from relaxing jazz and piano music to irish rock, and being a game that oozes soul and creativity, D4 is a fantastic game that will suck you in it's world in a way few games this generation will ever hope to achieve.

D4 certainly is not for everyone, and it's a quite niche title, but if you're the type who enjoys old or new point and click games, if you loved Deadly Premonition, if you want a game that oozes charm, or you want a great old time with a game that spews random trivia about tequilla and boston cram chowder, I cannot recommend this game enough. Even at $15 full price I doubt you'll walk away too disappointed.

It's a fantastic game that aged like fine wine. It's still worth playing now today, and even for $5, you are absolutely getting your moneys worth.

That said, you may want to look for source ports or WADS for Doom 1 and 2, because you'll have a bit of trouble trying to get Doom 1 and 2 to run or play properly on Windows 7 and 8, at least from my expirence. Still it doesn't take that long to install and get working, so get it anyway. It's a must for any Steam Owner.

A boring, too basic platformer that feels absolutely pretentious. It's like playing a flash title from websites like Newgrounds, only the developer wants $10 for it. All I can say is that it does a good job of telling you what you should be feeling.

There are much better indie games, especially on Steam. For the limited and extremely basic gameplay, don't spend it on this.

Speaking as someone who loved Saints Row 2 and went into this, I was so horribly disappointed. It just became bland very quickly, with very little memorable moments. You're better off skipping this title, as it's easily the worst Saints Row title of them all. Just spend a bit more and go for Saints Row 4, or less and get a copy of Saints Row 2.

An average, forgettable shooter. Not worth the money it costs, even $5 is stretching it. You're better off playing eDuke32 over this. Just get some Duke Nukem 3D mods and call it a day.

Boring game with not much to it. I'd recommend you play Super Mario Land on the Game Boy instead, and it'd cost you as much, too.

Incredibly dull repetitive shooter that gets worse as it goes on. Multiplayer also seems to be very barren.

You are better off getting Aliens VS Predator 2010, or Aliens VS Predator Classic 2000. What Aliens CM should be.
