While I'm not a huge fan of the new voice acting, on the whole this is a phenomenal way to re-experience the original game. The new visuals are gorgeous and the game thankfully runs well on my low-mid range PC at 1440p, and while that would have been worth the price of admission just on its own, there's a few new changes that make this version worth grabbing. Survivor AI has been greatly improved, there's new camera functions to mess around with, side quests and dialog are now fully voice acted like in Dead Rising 3, there's welcome QoL improvements like being able to move/shoot and track multiple quests at once, and there's even new books that bring fun tweaks to combat.
I'm not sure if this would replace the original as that still looks and plays great at high refresh rates, and its still better suited to game on handhelds like the Steam Deck. But DRDR is still a very nice companion to the original that really breathes life back into this series, here's hoping that this ends up being a new start for it.
