This is a good game overall. It has major issues but overall is still a fun game. CS2 retains the core mechanics that have made the franchise as big as it is in competitive gaming, but many things beyond that still need some work. Transitioning to the Source 2 engine has brought a significant visual overhaul to CS2, with enhanced graphics and improved environmental details. The game features more realistic lighting, textures, and animations. However, this graphical upgrade has not come without its drawbacks. While some players appreciate the aesthetic improvements, there are people who dislike that the game has become much more vibrant. I personally do not mind but i have noticed the shift. Performance issues have also been a major talking point since the game's release. Many people have reported experiencing frame drops, stuttering, and other optimization problems, even on high-end systems. However valve is constantly updating to resolve those issues. The biggest upgrade here IMO is the hammer2 editor which has made working on maps actually enjoyable compared to the suffering that was source 1's editor. I really like that they added ray tracing into the editor so i dont need to compile the map to see how it will look lighting wise. moving on to the community side things there is a lot of problems. Its a competitve shooter so there are all the same issues here that affect the communities of similar games. Toxic players, abusive comms, trolling, etc. However i will say that overall it is not as bad as it used to be. I cannot say that for the cheating however. cheating has become so bad i would not be surprised to hear that valve have somehow accidentally disabled VAC since the release of CS2. ill end this here for now because i cba to continue this review.
