Early Access Review
Manor Lords is a worthy game, one might even declare it a grand game, yet 'tis not merely its present state that renders it so, but rather the spirit of those behind it—the crafter and the fellowship.

The game is verily not a completed opus, and by my reckoning, it doth need yet another two years of labour to emerge as a full game. Of course, this might shift should the developer opt to summon more craftsmen to the task.

Whilst the game is clearly still under the Early Access banner, what we receive at this juncture is commendable. The foundational play is established, and thou shalt not find thyself chagrined by it. At times, it may lack richness or bewilder due to the absence of a more thorough guiding script, yet these flaws are nought that cannot be mended in forthcoming updates.

Methinks the essence lies not in the game itself, but in the hearts of those who wrought it—souls who chose to craft a game of worth above all, who valued the creation of something meritorious over merely something to vend. This sentiment hath been noted by many, myself included.

I deem it a beacon of hope for the gaming craft.

The game is good for a game made in 2014.
The reason I don't like is that I get very nauseated whenever I play it.
Not sure why though, I get high FPS, I have g-sync enabled, motion blur off and so on.
It's the only game in my library that does that.

"You've played an additional 8 hours"
"Would you recommend this game to other players?"

No it's still garbage.

A €20? No thank you.
Yes you could argue that it doesn't matter early on but why would I invest my time into a game that pretty much requires a subscription at a high level of play - so play long enough and you will need one. And I am not willing to pay €20 per month for a game that I might not even play that much on a particular week/month.

Take into consideration that an AAA game cost €60, and you own it and can play it however and whenever you like.

I closely inspected the number of average players they have and the scope of game updates and there is simply no excuse for a such high subscription cost. Not the servers. Not the development hours. Nothing.

It's a perfect example of how to capitalize on a long-term and dedicated community.
And based on some reddit posts and general news it's only getting worse.
A true p2p and soon to be p2w game.

'Twas not on any certain day, when darkness did start to grow,
As wicked creatures crawled from graves, from depths so far below.
At first, their numbers were but few, we laughed at their display,
But I, with dread, felt something dark, it stirred within my way.

Their ranks did swell with each new dawn, a sight too grim to bear,
We fought with swords, with spears and shields, but soon saw no repair.
I slashed and cut, hurled knives with force, dodged every deathly strike,
My battle, like the undead foes, seemed endless without respite.

I know not how much time went by, it may have been forlorn,
But all I found when I looked 'round were bodies, all tattered and torn.
Some died in shame, hung from the trees, others fell in combat,
But death, it came for all of them, no matter how they sat.

Decades passed, my fight continued, a never-ending plight,
But I noticed then a change that stirred, a faint glimmer of light.
The hordes of undead, they did thin, I wondered what had caused,
But as years passed, I realized, my will was what it paused.

My spirit and my drive shone bright, a holy aura grand,
All that was cursed, all that was vile, vanished by my hand.
As I wandered through ancient ruins, I found magic texts so old,
Years of study made me see, I had powers that could unfold.

My magical energy grew and grew, like blue fires, bright and bold,
My strength exceeded that of men, godhood within my hold.
Evil creatures fled before me, lighting bolts at every aim,
I was untouchable, my power great, no equal, all the same.

But still, the undead hordes did grow, with each passing year,
And I began to see their ways, their evolutions near.
I studied hard, meditated long, to try and find a way,
To stop them, but my godly powers, had reached their final sway.

Fear took hold, as I saw their strength, grow with each passing age,
My delusion shattered into dust, as I faced their darkest rage.
I ran and ran, searching for shelter, but nowhere could I find,
The undead and their twisted kin, forever in my mind.

Millennia and eons may have passed, when the day of reckoning came,
Evil creatures entered my aura, my strength it could not tame.
I fought with all my godly might, the earth below did shake,
But the reaper, he is not fussy, he comes for all, make no mistake.

One of the best city builders I have played.
The game does a great job of pushing you to make hard decisions and compromises.
It then creates a story around those decisions. Additionally, each decision has tangible consequences that feel very appropriate for the game's setting.

Pros:
- A detailed flight simulator
- Advanced flight engine
- 1:1 map with live weather
- Training flights
- Good connection to Microsoft Servers (I had no issues)

Cons:
- Lack of optimization (low FPS)
- Graphics are just okay
- Practically requires a joystick or a console controller, otherwise bad controls
- No direct support for Playstation controllers, seriously ?
- Over-complicated control shortcuts
- Long loading times (even on an M.2 SSD)
- Micro-transactions, "DLCs" - for 120 euro game (premium edition) this is pushing a line, for 120 euro all DLCs should be included by default.

Summary:
- Value: 3/10
- Gameplay: -
- Graphics: 6/10
- Controls: 5/10
- Game details: 7/10

Overall score: 4/10
