As a big racing game fan constantly waiting for the next thing this held me over for a little while. After about 60 hours I've completed all playlist as well as 75% of the challenge/open world content. The game looks fantastic, but the 60fps lock is outright stupid for a game released in 2024. The thing that really drew me to the game was the car customization, which for a car lover was incredible. As for the actual racing mechanics I found them incredibly satisfying once I passed the initial learning curve, and I found myself having tons of fun going for top ~3k runs simply because I knew I could do better, which is a great feeling. It's not perfect, but its a good answer to the Forza horizon series, I think it deserves a sequel eventually. I understand mixed reviews, but I picked this up for $34 along with one of my friends and after playing about 1/2 of the mentioned hours with him, I really enjoyed it. 6.5/10

After ~38 hours I've completed all of the "content" in Legion. The game overall is pretty boring that I tuned out pretty early on in the game, autopilot took over and I ran through the open world incredibly quickly before returning to the campaign and the side content (best of which by far is the Assassins Creed crossover storyline, ironic that the best part of the side content is due to another games storyline), there is a decent amount of side content as well as main story stuff, and I did take the time to get pretty much one of every interesting character type as well as unlock everything. Most people that rate games poorly don't play that much, but I'm different (there is something wrong with me).

Its pretty clear that the little amount of passion put into this game was probably killed by Ubisofts deadlines and problems internally. Hacking is a stripped version of the previous games, gunplay feels less in depth and more repetitive, theres next to no customizations, you can't buy vehicles, you can't buy weapons. The characters are lifeless, voice acting in the campaign is meh at best. Your ai companion bagley is probably the best voiced character, and does have a few good moments of comedic relief, but that's it as for dialogue outside the story, it would be generous to say its subpar. Sounds are reused from previous titles, soundtrack is mediocre at best, elevators are loading screens (starfield reference?) I could go on and on. My point is there are is a clear lack of polish. There are good things about the new "become anyone", character swap mechanic, but in its current state it leads to more negatives than positives.

Runs at around 100 FPS in 1440p High with DLSS on 5700x3D & RTX 3070 and years after release I really expected better, another disappointement. The game doesn't look bad, but it's nothing special, I honestly think the previous titles looked better, the settings will take time to dial in, there's weird artifacting here and there, some really bad depth of field effects, and more, but overall its not a bad looking game by any means, just again not a step up from previous titles.

You don't need a long review for this one, you probably already know its bad, but as a huge fan of both the earlier games It's genuinely impressive how much of a step backwards this one is, a step so far backwards, that it may have genuinely killed the entire franchise. There are some good additions, there are cool take-down animations and generally driving is very fun, the animations when loading in for the first time or swapping to a character can be both interesting and funny at times, and there are A LOT of them. Also, there is micro-transactions, they are skins, but they exist (and obviously I never touched them), just an fyi.

I'm not saying there's no fun to be had, because there is, there parts I genuinely enjoyed, there are moments in both the story and main gameplay sequences that I really like, there are a few moments that stand out as good ideas and interesting plot points, but its all bogged down by the idea that the previous titles simply had miles better fundamentals burning in the back of my head, but hey, the game allowed me laugh at British people, I always love that. I changed my score several times throughout the game (I write as I go in steam notes) and I think that coveys the quality of the overall experience pretty well. I only recommend it because there is some fun to be had, however limited. 5.5/10

Just straight up not good, its not an improvement on the previous in any way, there's not much content, that's IF you can actually play the game.

A great management with just the right amount of difficulty, its very difficult in the beginning, but man does that learning curve hit like a truck. I kept restarting over and over again trying to get the best run possible and when I finally did it felt amazing, I also did one play-through on endless mode, and while there is a wealth of other ways to enjoy if you like these games, I'm gonna stop here (the season pass also offers a wealth of newer content as well if your into that but it ain't cheap). This took me around 20 hours (not all on this acc) to complete, and I enjoyed it fully.

Games like this don't really need a long review, if your into it your into it, but as a guy who only dabbles in these games like I said I really liked it. Looks great, has very deep mechanics, its a good all rounder, that's all you need to know, I'm excited for the follow up soon. 8/10

Pacific Drive is a great game with a fantastic blend of honestly to many systems to count: survival craft, driving, resource management, customization and upgrade trees, open world story, point is its got a lot going for it, and spoiler alert; its great.

General survival-collection mechanics can be trivial at times, but as with most of its systems I feel as though things are introduced at a quick enough pace to stay interested for the runtime. The unlock tree of customizing your car, character, garage, and everything in between always add to the intrigue of the general loop as unlocks are scattered through both the story and the world as you explore more areas.

Pacific Drive's main strength is its setting and environment, the world is beautifully crafted. The story is not perfect, and its ending as well as some of its more "emotional" moments sometimes fall short for a few reasons, for me it could be the silent protagonist? but maybe not. Its not bad by any means, its VERY interesting, all I'm saying is the ending isn't going to blow you away. However the character acting is very strong, believable, recognizable if you play a lot of games, and always fun.

Game looks great, but on PC right now I'm getting around 90 Fps on 1440p Medium on my RTX 3070 and 5700x3D. ultra gets me around 60 fps. Doesn't run bad by any means, just doesn't run perfect.

I would also like to point out this is a survival game that didn't release in some sort of early "beta" as an excuse for an unfinished product. It came out for $30, and if you push every collectible, every unlock, you can squeeze 50 hours out of this bad boy, and that means something to me.

TLDR: Pacific drive is a fantastic blend of a survival craft game and a driving/ mechanic game (and the systems that come with both). An interesting story that weaves through everything the game has to offer in its 40+ hours (for rough 100% completion), leaves me feeling fulfilled, and hopeful for a hard sequel. 9/10

Before I say anything, I am a FC fan, I have 100% completed most of the games, and for a while, I wrote this one off. I tried it on release and just got bored, putting about 10-15 hours into it. Now coming back to it, after about 35-40 hours I have 100% completed the game, and I'm really glad I returned.

FC games always look good, and this one continues that trend, with the environments being incredible my only complaint being they are not varied enough. I played in 1440p Ultra and got 140+ Fps consistently (5800x3D & RTX 3070) and It was a joy, no bugs, no problems, no performance issues, but obviously this game came out a long time ago and it should be in that state at this point.

The Story and mainly the voice acting from the main cast is top tier and falls off as you go down the tiers of side characters, again as usual for a FC game. But the story and arcs are overall interesting and enjoyable. The soundtrack is incredible, and adds so much to every part of the game, sometimes comforting, sometimes chilling, often both.

Overall its a FC game you know what your gonna get, its nothing that's gonna jump out at you, but its good fun for a while. 7.5/10

Today I finished PalWorld. I've completed the Paldeck, all bosses, all syndicate towers, have all saddles and tech items, weapons, 3 bases etc.

TLDR: The game is ARK with Pokemon, if you like survival exploration games and Pokemon you'll love this one, and despite the obvious ethical issues people bring up with the possible (but as of this review unconfirmed) use of AI and the fact that it seems to add to genre of game "slop" that we've been accustomed to lately of just mashing tons of systems together from various other games and calling it a new thing. But I really like this one, I spent nearly 100 hours in it and I don't really even know why, but I would recommend.

The obvious rip is Pokemon but below the surface is the entire ui, skill, and unlock system from ARK, an opening and map that consistently will give you dejavu if you've played elden ring, or other ui and audio elements ripped from various other titles, I only notice because I play to many games.

As for gameplay it is essentially just ARK: Survival Evolved but with Pals instead of dinos, I already stated these comparisons above. A lot of the latter ~50 hours is grind, consisting of farming ore, sulfer, and coal, as well crafting items/ammo/Ingots as well as breeding for better pals (which is one of the reasons a lot of my last 20 hours was afk waiting for eggs), Beating all bosses and towers can be achieved much faster than I chose to. I was playing solo, I needed max level pals and at least 1-2k bullets to do the later syndicate towers, so it took me much longer, even a duo could complete the game in probably half the time. I could have gotten 10 of every single pal to "fill out" the paldeck, but after achieving about 50-70% naturally I really didn't feel like it (I caught at least one of everything though, just not the 10 goal for extra xp). Speaking of the syndicate towers they do offer a genuine challenge whether you are solo or in numbers (scaling) and I found I did need several tries for the final 2 towers solo, mainly because I ran out of time, unable to do enough damage in the 10 minutes allotted, but eventually, after farming for better moves and pals overall, I got through them, which was satisfying. Overall this is a grind game that is improved with friends, but I loved it solo.

Performance wise I was surprised by how well it performed even when I turned up the scaling and server options to allow more pals in my base (big plus to the devs for including all of these world settings on launch, it made playing solo much more enticing, and I HIGHLY recommend changing almost all of the scaling settings if you intend to play solo like me. I got ~100-130 fps on a mix of high/ultra at 1440p around the world (RTX 3070 & AMD 5800x3D) and around 60-80 at max capacity with all large pals in my base.

Overall what you have is essentially a game the world has been waiting for for years, a Pokemon survival game with guns, what more could you want? The game just launched in early access, and while I'm not really the type to return to games, I look forward to whats to come for this one. 8/10

After about ~35 hours, I'm bored, after the main story as well as (almost) all side content there's probably another 50 hours of "content" (most is from added post launch). Just like the previous, I'm not playing it, I can't be bothered. Last time, on GR WildLands, I played another 30 hours past the main story + sides (again post game additions/ map cleanup) and I regretted it, so I'm not gonna do it here, the rest feels like bloat.

The game is unnecessarily big and you feel it through every aspect of its gameplay, from the UI, to the map constantly flashing way-points at you as if that helps you see things. Luckily, the first one you can change, and because of all these post-launch add-ons there are now literally hundreds of options allowing you to customize everything about your experience, and I like that.

I like the story, John Beranthol holds it on his shoulders of course (and he's just being the punisher) but I don't care, I liked the cut-scenes, and the voice acting from the main cast is for the most part great, the side content however, is generally subpar.

Gameplay is the important part though right, well it's really strong, it takes wildlands and improves it, the game feels almost the same as its predecessor, but again I don't really mind, because it was a good footprint. Breakpoint simply has more to offer, (biome diversity is great). Lots of customization, lots of RPG elements (if you choose). I chose to play with the gun score system because I like looter shooters, and finding something that says legendary and has a yellow tag still feels good (grown man btw). I should also mention both your teammates and enemy AI is much better now, launch AI was bad as far as I know.

Overall its not perfect, but due to the sheer amount of content and the amount of work the devs have put into improving it post launch make it worth it for me, again, I got bored (After ~35, but what I played was pretty strong, I enjoyed it, but it was NOT perfect. 7/10

One of those games that's been talked to death, there's not much to say about it that has not already been said. The game is amazing, its feels like a AAA experience despite its Indie game status, it looks incredible, plays incredible, and is clearly made by people who are passionate about what they do.

Beautiful short story game with lots to offer, about 5-9 hours depending on who you are. (FYI press B to meow is the best feature in gaming in 10 years) 9/10
