This game on an ultrawide 3440x1440p monitor was a cinematic masterpiece as far as visuals go. There was no stretching and menus weren't stuck to 16:9. It felt as if the game was ported with ultrawide in mind rather than an after thought.

As far as performance, the game ran pretty well on original settings, maintaining 60fps.
This is on a 2060 with a Ryzen 7 5900x. Also, FSR was set on max by default. Game was beautiful and felt like my 2060 was more than enough to showcase how beautiful this game is.

As far as gameplay. It was my first God of War and I wanted a decently challenging experience so I went with "Give me a Challenge". Being the 2nd highest difficulty, I did expect a harder experience but that might have been because I did spend a good chunk of this year playing souls games. There definitely was a noticible difficulty hike when different types of enemies were introduced but overall, I felt the game to be very forgiving on "Give me a Challenge". That, being said, I did every side quest (except for one early on) that granted me great gear. The great gear allowed for me to play a bit more sloppy and get away with it. It was at least a nice change from dealing with souls games. The difficulty definitely gave me a reason to take my time with the game, especially the side quests.

Now for the story. I felt like the story was plain and simple. It being my first God of War, it had me wanting to check out lore videos on the previous ones. I can confidently say that there is no prior knowledge needed to enjoy the story. I can see how some might call it long and drawn out due to some redundant twists, the graphics and game play made up for it.

The game has been fun and all but has far too many issues for me to recommend it.
From minor nitpicks, to game breaking annoyances, MWII has it all.

One of my minor nitpicks has to do with every time there is an update, you start the game and it tells you that you need to restart the game due to an update.....
The game breaking annoyance was when I was in a mission about halfway through the game and kept getting kicked off because MWII "couldn't connect to steam." After I stopped getting that error, I got bugsplat errors upon launching the campaign. I finally decided to restart the level, and then it decided to let me play through the rest of the campaign (which is pretty fun up to the last fight)

All in all, I'd only recommend this if your a major fan of COD and can withstand through the trial and error of running the game from time to time.

Fun short game if you can get passed the bugs.

There are some parts of the game where every 1-2 minutes you'll cross (haha) an annoying bug.
There are minor bugs that happen frequently such as the 2nd non locked on 2 handed weapon attack missing 100% of the time.
Overall fun game though. World is big but I felt as if it was too big at times.

Great story, great combat.

I got a a little bit overwhelmed with all the combos I had unlocked leading towards the end.
Cutscenes were great as well.

Great game. Loved almost every bit of it.

Only thing is with the Remastered version, you are forced to play the "ultra hard mode".

What's different in "ultra hard mode" is that there is a 30% chance of your game freezing upon opening up the map and there is a 5% chance of your game freezing upon saving.

Sadly, I lost around 30 minutes of progress due to this "ultra hard mode".

Wonderful game.

First play through took me 90 or so hours. This included tons of side content, exploration, and build tuning.
The game has tons of content that will keep you busy for a while. After all the exploration and side content, I was more than well prepared to fight most required bosses (and optional ones) without much trouble. There were times I was compelled to summon as I knew the content wasn't required and I really didn't want to get burnt out.

Journey two and three were spent getting the rest of the achievements in order to 100%. There are a few achievements that you can get locked out of getting if you've progressed too far into the game. The endings can be save scummed as well.

Overall, more than worth the money, time and effort spent towards 100%ing the game. The combination of many areas reminded me much of other souls games.

Lovely game. Took me years to beat cause I bought it when I was just a young lad. Hell, I even beat DS3 before this.
