Is Assassin's Creed Odyssey Better Than The Witcher 3?

Short Answer: No.
Witcher 3 has much extensive RPG mechanics, characters that bring out more emotional attachment, and better side quests among many other aspects that Odyssey cannot match. But the fact that AC Odyssey is even in the conversation with Witcher 3 is quite an accomplishment for Ubisoft and definitely a journey worth experiencing.

Ubisoft has taken what they introduced in Origins and improved it in every way from character development to combat system/RPG elements, and more comprehensive side quests in a much bigger open world environment.

While playing Odyssey I saw glimpses of the Witcher 3’s influence.
The rich dialogue and interactions you have with the world and the NPC’s (Non-playable Characters) allows you to feel attached to them, like I did with Geralt in the Witcher…that is if you play as Kassandra. She is quick witted, funny and passionate. It's nice that Ubisoft gives you the option to play as multiple characters, but to be honest you will enjoy Odyssey much more with Kassandra. Alexios voice acting is quite bad because it's often over the top, forced and feels like a bad B or C level actor voiced him, pulling you out of meaningful moments in the game. With Kassandra though I never had that experience. Also, Ubisoft pulled back the confusing story-line of the series a bit so that you’re not weighted down with the relationship the Assassins have with the Templar’s as much as previous games. This makes me more invested and excited for the story than I have been in games prior to Origins

The combat system is very similar to the Witcher 3 but not as robust.

You’re able to freely spend and reset your ability points, trying different combinations of weapons and attacks. You want flaming dual swords? Check. How about remote control over an arrow for perfect shot placement? Check. Rage mode like God of War? Check. My personal favorite has to be the Spartan Kick. I find myself yelling “THIS IS SPARTA” in my head every time I do it. This variety and flexibility will drive you to unlock more and more abilities.

On top of the abilities of the characters, customization with your weapons is great too. You’re able to get different level of gear off enemies along the rank of common, rare, epic, and legendary. Each piece has different perks so you’re able to match them to your style of play and you can even add additional ones to your gear by engraving. Such enhancements are additional critical damage, stealth bonus, faster ability recharge, breathing under water, etc… And if you have a level one piece of gear that you really like, you can raise it to the max level if you have the necessary crafting materials.

Which game does weapons and abilities better?

That’s up to your personal preference. I think that most people will like Odyssey more than Witcher 3 in this regard even though the latter has more to choose from. Mostly because you only get one reset on your abilities for the game on the Witcher 3, so you have to choose your points wisely as they will hold a lot more weight as you progress.

Side Missions
In many open world games, you could stick to the main quest almost start to finish without feeling that you’re missing out on an epic side mission. Not the case with Odyssey though. Much like Witcher 3, Odyssey is able to pull me in with the many side quests. I found myself with very little regrets going out of my way to a spot with a “?” and spending the time to complete it. Though I still haven’t come across a side quest as memorable as The Bloody Barron in Witcher 3, which is probably an unfair comparison as that side quest is one of the best ever in gaming history. Odyssey’s side quests are meaningful though. The fetch quests, as there are many in massive open world game, are even enjoyable. For example, one of my favourite fetch quest was a love triangle where you have to collect items to make a potion that will cause someone to fall in love with an NPC. You can choose different options which effect how it unfolds and who end up with the “happy ending”. It is these kind of details that make your time spent doing extra content satisfying. Even as I was playing the other night I was flagged down by an NPC. I thought “Okay, this should be a 10 minute pit stop for some of that sweet, sweet XP.” Wrong! Two hours later I finished the multiple branching side quest with a thrilling conclusion. Every time I think, I’m going to work on the main story I get distracted by one of the many “?” on the gigantic map. To some this may seem overwhelming (and it is), but it’s an example of how good content all around helps drive people to play your game.

Final Thoughts
My final thoughts on this game and the comparison is that these type of games are best played and enjoyed at your own pace, not thinking about how you’re going to 100% it or beat it fast. I’m the type of gamer that wants to burn through games, but after a few hours in the world of Odyssey I stopped trying to rush to the end and just started to enjoy the ride.

Shadow of War is one of the most enjoyable game I have ever played
Even after all these years I still go back to play it again once in a while. This game doesn't end when the story is over. It's absolutely worth getting, especially on sale. The online portion is still played by many. It’s not pvp though so don't expect that. The Online conquest is a sort of pve game mode but the forts which you can attack are set up by actual people, so you'll never really find the same setup all the time. You can send your overlord on an online pit fight or you fight against other people’s fortresses that they've stocked with, usually, their best orcs. Online vendetta is similar but is more like missions where you are going after an orc from other players’ game who has killed them. You can also defeat and recruit orcs from other players forts. The same way, if any of your precious orc unfortunately dies in any of these online conquests you will lose them for good.

The Nemesis System and combat gameplay are what keep me coming back
The combat is similar to the likes of Assassins Creed and the Batman Arkham games but much better in my opinion. The abilities, combos etc are really fluid and satisfying. It’s not just hack and slash, you have to use your brain before going after different types of orcs. Higher tier Orcs will have multiple immunities, rages and strengths along with certain weaknesses. You can have to exploit them in your advantage, by tracking down a Worm. For example, there are orcs who are immune to arrows, executions, fire etc. Fortress captains tend to have more strengths than weaknesses, so you have to be careful with that. You have to plan your ambush/attack and prepare before joining a fight.
Thanks to the unique, intricate & superbly designed content generator named ‘Nemesis system’ I never got bored at finding interesting AI orcs with personality, unpredictable behaviour and catchy, comedic/provocative dialogues. Not to mention certain death defying orcs who just would not stay dead. No matter how much punishment they go through they still sometimes resurrect and ambush. You might think that the best thing to do here is dominate and recruit them but they can still betray you later!! The Nemesis System also rewards creative and adventurous players with new story lines and breath-taking encounters one after another. The system even turns some orcs into truly memorable enemies.

Furthermore
The game’s visuals and landscapes are sublime. The story can easily rival the masterpiece that is The Lord of the Rings trilogy. This story driven game also has some intriguing plot twists that is worth mentioning.
The in game unlockable gear sets including rings, bows, swords, armors, cloaks, daggers, hammers, masks are quite remarkable. I didn’t have to grind very hard to get them.
While playing the game I became addicted to fighting Orcs, hunting them down, confronting those that betrayed me or killed my Captains. After levelling up and acquiring new sets of skills/abilities I felt a sense of unique and divine Godly power….it’s hard to describe with words. I also formed a bond with Talion not just to avenge the slaughtering of his whole family but through his morals and belief in a better world – a better Mordor.

DLC
There are two DLC available which are slightly different as you play different characters (Eltariel & Baranor) in them. You get Nemesis expansions: a number of new Tribes, new orcs, tribal weapons, legendary gear sets, new fortress & regions and obviously new missions. They tie this game’s story nicely with the earlier story of Shadow of Mordor.

Any gripes?
Although certain aspects of the game like brutal killing, torturing, and mind controlling the evil can be fun for many people but might be little too much for certain faint hearted ones 😂

Conclusion
In my honest opinion, even if you are not a big fan of Lord of the Rings or not much familiar with it, it’s a pretty safe bet you'll get your money’s worth in Shadow of War definitive edition.

I remember playing Gears of war 1st instalment when it came out in 2006. I enjoyed the campaign and had a blast with the PVP mode for straight 4 years. I couldn't even run gears 4 after buying it from Microsoft store for some unknown bug that I could never fix. It was a total waste of money. Finally Gears 5 came out but I was in no mood to buy it on steam for $60, so had to wait for the sale.

Campaign
The campaign mode is story driven and engaging. Graphics and level design really impressed me. I haven't finished the campaign. I only played a few hours but I can certainly say it's been so much fun that it's really hard to stop playing the game after a start.
The combat gameplay remains the same. You still duck for cover, peer around corners, shoot at your enemies and try to outflank them. But there are plenty of new things added to the game that I didn't see before. There is a new flying robot companion named 'Jack' that can heal you, cloak your team, help you fetch weapons/ammunition, provide firepower support and more.
The AI was quite good, they always surprise with new tricks.

Multiplayer
Gears have never been the most popular multiplayer game but it has a passionate and dedicated community. There are plenty of modes of PVP and PVE means there is something for everyone. Even the new/casual players can enjoy the multiplayer playing ''Versus Arcade'' mode against experienced players and still get a lot of reward.
Since the newest update, Operation 4: Brothers in Arms the game is better than ever. I don’t have to queue for long to find a match. Most importantly, there is very less grinding now. Also, you can buy almost everything from the store with in game earned currency, except things like Esports skin packs and selected bundles which will require actual purchase. Also there is a brand new, weekly-updated store with a massive permanent collection. After only playing 2 hours of PVE, I earned enough money to buy a complete bundle of Lunar New Year Skins and banner.

Negatives
Nothing is perfect, I have to admit that I have seen some bugs occasionally but nothing game breaking. Another sad thing is that there is no photo mode in the game.

Conclusion
Overall, I am glad that I waited long enough to buy the game which is allowing me to enjoy it in the current state.
Note that, the game price keeps changing. I would definitely recommend the game but buy it on sale if the price is higher in your region.

Compelling story line, beautiful graphics & brilliant puzzles
Shadow of the Tomb Raider is a phenomenal game. It makes great advancements in gameplay, looks and sounds absolutely gorgeous, and has an incredibly emotional story which wrapped up the trilogy nicely but was still very much its own thing.

Camilla Luddington knocks it out of the park once again here and her excellent performance is a big part of why Croft feels so real and relatable. Despite her saying this may be her last outing as the action heroin I suspect when we eventually get a new game in the future she’ll be on the short list of voice actors to call up. I will say whilst she does feel closer to the classic incarnation I would have liked to see just a little bit more of that peak through. 5 years later and she still doesn’t use those damn pistols but like I said I doubt this is the end of Croft’s story so die-hard classic fans might just have to wait that little bit longer.

Anyways, since the game is on sale, this is must buy. It’s definitely worth your time.

Wallpaper Engine gives you the desktop backgrounds your PC deserves

Are you bored of static generic wallpapers? If so you should really take a look at Wallpaper Engine. This standalone program makes finding, setting and using animated backgrounds straightforward and all within a few left clicks. The one area that sets Wallpaper Engine far ahead of any of the competition is how it has tapped into the Steam Workshop which in turn gives you access to thousands of hand crafted backgrounds.

Wallpaper Engine not only makes finding new backgrounds simple but has the added benefit of allowing you to create playlists consisting of your favourite backgrounds. You can also set the playlist up so every 30 minutes, an hour etc it will automatically change to another background from your playlist. You can create your own background/wallpaper playlist from the thousands of designs available for free.

The background designs range from memes, anime (including dancing waifu), gaming related, interactive or even utility such as an animated clock or other information. Chances are whatever interests you will find a background perfectly suited to your preferences. You can even create and publish your own backgrounds. There are plenty of tutorial on youtube on how to make nice wallpapers on your own. Some wallpapers include support for Razer Chroma and Corsair iCUE, to illuminate your moody gaming setup with stylish colour-coordinated accents and even live interactive music. Not to mention audio responsive wallpapers; they are pure bliss.

You need to enable the software on startup so that it kicks into action soon after your PC boots. System Requirements to run this software is quite low. Constantly running a live wallpaper in the background is not taxing on your system at all, and Wallpaper Engine tries to use as few system resources as possible. The animated wallpapers will also pause when you're playing games, so there is zero interference. Having used it for a few months now, I haven't experienced anything to suggest that it's negatively impacting my system when playing games.
The user interface is clean, well designed, easy to navigate and easy to use. This software is not only great value for money but does exactly what it says on the tin without any additional costs or bugs and is something I regularly recommend to friends and family alike. This product deserves every positive review it has accumulated and more.

Oh God....using Wallpaper Engine on my 32" Monitor (ROG Strix XG32VQR) has been fascinating.

I highly recommend everyone to buy Wallpaper Engine. You won’t regret it.

I don't know where to begin. I bought this game but sadly couldn't play it because my Origin would not link with my steam account. When trying to launch the game from steam Origin opened up and asked for ''product activation code''. I bought the game from steam store using steam wallet, where will I get an activation code? I tried steam support and it directs me to EA support. I went through that, got connected with EA live chat support. Spent 3 hours with multiple agents. Tried different solutions according to their directions. I even used a different laptop but had same problem. They failed to give a solution that works and left me here in despair. Such a big company like EA can't find me solution after 3 hours. On top of that while troubleshooting with EA steam registered 1.5 hours game time too!! I really wanted to play this game on steam as all my games are here. I really don't wanna ask for refund but i might have no other choice. So, if you want to buy this game I suggest buy it from Origin directly or you might face what I am facing now. 😢
imgur.com/a/crzZStY

Update: I have finally managed to get my steam and origin linked, therefore the game is running without any issue. Although, I expected EA support team to give me a solution but they failed. After spending whole night, I myself found an workaround. Instead of installing the 60mb current version, this time I downloaded an older/legacy version of Origin(227mb), installed it, updated it to latest version and voila!!

I have to admit that, visually the game is absolutely stunning and sometimes breathtaking. The gameplay is a mixture of Prince of Persia, Tom Raider and Star Wars. The storyline and characters are intriguing. Sound is also spot on and gives an authentic Star Wars feel to the experience. Respawn has absolutely nailed the Jedi power fantasy. One of the best single player campaign out there.

I have now overturned my review to a thumbs up.

Killing Floor 2 has some of the most satisfying shooting around as the old formula holds up well thanks to high levels of polish, awesome graphics, incredible soundtracks and fast paced gameplay. There are not many games as cruel and bloody as Killing Floor 2. Taking down waves of huge monsters(zeds) was never as satisfying as in Killing Floor 2. The zeds are scary with different abilities, movement patterns and chase you in such an aggressive way that I haven't seen in other games. To be honest, at times it gets really intimidating.
When you're enjoying making zeds disappear sometimes, something cool happens, such as a headshot or explosion and you will enter slow motion known as Zed time. This lets you line up the next few shots, heal really quick or just get a quick look around to see what's going on.
There are plenty of maps, classes, perks to try and different ways to play around them. At first, the game is fairly easy but it can become crushingly hard if you want it to be. Playing solo can be hard but you can play with your friends or just simply join other random players. No worries, the game has Server Browser feature & options to host personal servers. There is more, you can also play as the zeds in turns and kill other players in a pvp mode named Versus Survival mode.
As of writing this review, the game is on 67% sale. Just go ahead and buy it. You won't regret it.

It's very enjoyable. The game is simplified, meaning decks are half the size, Fields have three zones instead of five, and fusions are the only extra deck cards. It's free to play. A perfect game for any Yu-Gi-Oh! fan, but also a great entry point for those interested in Yu-Gi-Oh!, or even popular CCGs in general. In a crowded market, Yu-Gi-Oh! still manages to stand above the crowd.
If you love Yu-Gi-Oh! this is an easy recommendation. However, even if you don’t, then this is the perfect card game experience, one wrapped within some of the best presentation you’ll ever see.
