Good game

This DLC is amazing. Definitely worth the money

I'm 46 hours in and only about halfway to 1/3rd through the game (i think). The huge amount of content there is in this game is just amazing. You just keep finding more and more to do when you think you've already found everything. The story, writing, and dialogue are absolutely phenomenal. The characters stories are interesting, even if a little absurd sometimes but it gives it its own little charm. I'm always really excited to see the little ! above their head that tells me i get to progress and learn more about their story. The map and environment are so well done and beautiful im sometimes breathless at just how pretty it is.

The only downside i have with the game, is that the combat can be extremely frustrating sometimes. I can tell it was made to be much more streamlined for newer players who dont know DnD mechanics all to well. Playing as a bard i give inspiration and the game just has an "auto use" feature for it. Even if i had already made the at attack and its going to hit, the game will just use the inspiration dice to the roll absolutely wasting it. You have to go through the menus and find where you can change it to ask you when you want to use it. Which even then, thats only characters specific, and when you have the effect. So when you swap out characters for someone new, you forget "ah dangit i didnt switch it back to ask for this one yet" and its really frustrating. I really think it should have been an option in the game play settings to ask or something.

But this game absolutely is the best purchase you'll make in a long time. Highly worth it 9.5/10

I've been playing Arena since its beta so i've been with the game for awhile now.

Arena is an absolutely great way to learn how to play the game if you're a new player. It has a great tutorial and gives you a good walk through on how things work, what you do, and how to win. Magic is a game that takes a lot of time to master and its a good tool to help if you dont have anyone to play with IRL or a local game shop near you to go play at.

However, Wizards of the Coast extremely predatory marketing and cash milking from this game is absolutely insane and embarrassing. There are codes that give you a good amount of packs and cosmetics to get you started, however unless you're ready and willing to pay some money every now and again you're not going to fully be able to enjoy or play the game until you do. The game has a wildcard system that still does not let you recycle any of your rare/mythic cards you dont want into wildcards. So because of that the most random bulk rare in the game has the same "value" as the most powerful rare. It's just up to RNG if you get it in a pack or have to spend the wildcards to get them. So because of that you really have to be sure on what you want to spend your wildcards on before you do it, because you're going to be using that deck for a long long time until you get the wildcards again to be able to make a new deck.

Alchemy is a special Arena only set of cards and format that, in my opinion, absolutely ruins the game. There are so many broken cards in alchemy that really just make the game unfair unless you're playing them as well. It wouldnt be so bad if alchemy was only restricted to the alchemy format, but they're also legal in historic as well which is the only way to play some of the older cards or the brawl format which is 1v1 commander.

I wish i there were a 3rd recommend option because there are so many things in this game that make me want to put "No" however Magic is my favorite game and hobby, so i dont want anyone to see the thumbs down and think that the game isnt worth playing because it absolutely is. The best way to experience magic is to find a local game store near you and get into paper and the community. Arena has many issues that i dont agree with, but if its all you have then i still recommend playing the game.

A game that is not only better than just about every AAA game, but also has the humanity to go on sale for 70% off and be $12, $15 fot GOTY. Where as COD games are still going for $60 and if you're lucky $50 on sale not including all the DLC
