Writing this right after finishing* my first campaign and honestly it isn't bad! The game is pretty faithful to the original and the new 3d graphics are a welcome addition. Being early access, its obviously not complete and you'd probably still be better off going back to xenonauts 1 after a campaign or two until more updates come out. As for "finishing" the campaign, I don't know whether my game bugged out or not but UFO's stopped spawning at around like, a year.

Okay honestly, I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ despised this game when it first came out, as we all know it was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, absolutely hooooorrible. With season one I had nearly zero expectations to make it better but I figured I'd give it a try and TO MY GREAT SURPRISE, it has made the game MUCH better. Not to say it doesnt need alot of work still because it does but honestly its fairly enjoyable now, especially with friends.

The performance is terrible right now BUT overall its a great game and like Warhammer II, it should only get better once the mortal empires map comes out and all the old content is accessible again.
Domination is also an excellent multiplayer mode, if pvp is your thing that is.

I had a bug where I had dumdum as an accidental companion for the entire prologue.
