A fantastic take on the roguelike deckbuilder. Combat is incredibly fun with the hex grid gameplay. The action economy is very fun and a unique way to use cards. Over all, very much recommend this if you enjoy card games or gameplay that can be repeated for a long time.

Fantastic responsive gameplay, beautiful visuals and sounds, the same awesome Supergiant writing (with more jokes that compliment the game's tone), tons of replayability. Its everything I love in a Supergiant game and everything I love in a roguelike. Absolutely recommended.

The base game is a really cool board game, with enough video games and win conditions to feel like it took some inspiration form the Civalization series of games. Although your outcomes will feel incredibly dependant on random chance, there's a ton of fun little stories each time you play. Combat against other players makes you sometimes care less about winning and more about making the guy that killed you twice lose, and that's a really cool experience in this game.

Over all, the game feels like its designed to be played with your friends, being able to hang out and talk crap over some VOIP for an hour while using the game as a facilitator to do something. But I also have a huge blast playing against 4 random strangers online and just enjoying the game. The run time can get a little up there, as certain turns may end up taking forever with repeated bad rolls of events, but when those turns are yours they are these wonderful nail-biting heartaches.

The only real concern I would have is that there is a little too much focus on cosmetics, having a DLC just being reskins of the board, and recently skins for the characters. However, the game itself doesn't need any of them. Heck, you can get by and enjoy the game without touching the DLC character pack. Its just an opprotunity to send the devs a little more love, which they have easily earned from me!

Crawling through dungeons and killing monsters to fun music. You can really easily see your growth in skill and have a great time while still getting slaughtered. Plus, dance pad controls? The best roguelike I've played since FTL, and possibly even better.
